Roman Polanski Calls ‘MeToo’ Movement ‘Collective Hysteria’ And ‘Total Hypocrisy’

By CHRIS WHITE

Hollywood filmmaker and accused sex offender Roman Polanski called the “#MeToo” movement an example of mass hysteria that sometimes catches fire in society.

The movement is a type of “collective hysteria of the kind that sometimes happens in the society,” he told a Polish edition of Newsweek before the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences pulled his membership.

Polanski fled the U.S. in 1977 while after being convicted of having sex with a minor. He also compared the film industry’s response to the wave of recent sexual misconduct allegations to the way North Korea treats dead leaders.

“To me, this is total hypocrisy,” he said. “Everyone is trying to sign up, chiefly out of fear.” The Academy yanked the membership positions of both Polanski and comedian Bill Cosby, who was convicted May 3 of aggravated indecent assault.

Polanski, for his part, remained in good standing with the Academy for four decades despite fleeing to avoid prison time after pleading guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl. He was nominated for five awards and even won Best Director for 2003’s “The Pianist” — an award he will not be required to surrender.

Morticia, no...
Yeah her and Jack Nicholson had just broken up, so he goes to her place to get some of his stuff, or coke, and finds Polanski and that poor girl post-rape. Apparently jack fully cooperated with the cops though, so good on him for that.

What I found sickening a long time ago were people who were willing to give Polanski a pass for raping a thirteen-year-old just because his wife Sharon Tate was murdered by the Manson Family eight years earlier.

Yes, Tate's murder by disciples of a hateful psychopath was a tragedy, but it didn't give her husband the right to drug and rape a teenage girl after a photo session less than a decade after his wife's death.

LOL at Roman Polanski did good movies. He did maybe two good movies. Is Gary Glitter going to give an opinion on this witch hunt as well? I look forward to it.

It's especially rich because Roman treated her like shit.
She waited to tell him that she was pregnant so it was too late to abort.
He still pressured her to go out of the US for an insanely risky late term abortion.
She didn't and then he made sure she knew he was screwing other women.

The man that took care of/ helped her through her pregnancy was her ex Jay Sebring.
He was also killed that night by the Manson Family.

It's also quite funny that 2 of the women who can't spend a day without reeeeing about Trump and #MeToo are his biggest supporters.
One even appearing in a film why he should be allowed back into the US without any repercussions.

I am amazed that this disgusting child rapist actually did this.

I mean it's obvious that a disgusting piece of shit convicted of drugging and sodomizing a child would not like a movement that opposes things like drugging and sodomizing children, I'm just surprised this piece of shit would attract more attention to himself as the kind of vile person who would drug and sodomize children, and who has in fact openly admitted to and been convicted of drugging and sodomizing children.

Also why the fuck does even the Daily Caller call him an "accused" sex offender? He was fucking CONVICTED. He admitted he did it. He fled before sentencing. He is not "accused" of anything, he's fucking CONVICTED of it.

Or that Polanski should get a pass because he's a Holocaust survivor.

That's bullshit, because I'm willing to bet the majority of Holocaust survivors didn't end up as child-raping pieces of shit. The fact that he survived the Holocaust has nothing to do with him drugging and raping a 13 year old.

If anything, this just proves to me that he genuinely thinks he did nothing wrong. Granted, I've never interviewed pedophiles, but I imagine that they at least have some inkling that what they do isn't exactly good. Polanski, though, this just proves that he's absolutely shameless.

>child molester slamming anti-sexual harassment movement

That's hilarious :story:

That was my favorite part of the whole "poor Roman" thing when Sharon was murdered. He was a shit husband and cheated on her all the time. Roman was supposed to come home from Europe right before Sharon was murdered but delayed it because he didn't want to be around Sharon. Jay Sebring was the real one to feel bad for.

AP had to delete and rewrite their Tweet about the story because the fact that Polanski is a convicted child rapist and a fugitive from the law just kinda' slipped their mind, apparently.

I mean it's just to easy to forget that he's a pedo, right?

Of course he's gonna slam #metoo. They're against him having access to underage girls.

Sure there are some people making mountains out of molehills. But there's still plenty of sickos who haven't been caught. Dan Schneider still hasn't had any proof lobbed against him yet.

I find it hilarious that institutions go to such leaps as disowning some guy decades out of his prime of some insignificant title. Oh wow you guys kicked Bill Cosby out of the actors academy 30 years since he's done anything. What a bunch of heroes.

Polanski is still making movies, (He won Best Director for The Pianist in 2003) and plenty of people are happy to work with him. (He has some big name defenders, like Meryl Streep and Harrison Ford)

It's time for Hollywood to take the man's dick out of their mouth. Did he go through some horrible things? Yeah. Is that an excuse to be a scumbag rapist? No.

Wait. Eight years? I didn't know it was that long.

He's 84. Can't he just die already?

That’d be hysterical. Glitter was basically wiped from existence so even people who should remember him would go “who?” Isn’t he in a Taiwan prison right now?

Disgusting. I didn’t know about this. If we weren’t talking about Polanski, I would’ve hoped that he at least felt remorse over that if not for treating her like shit in general.

At this point, I think he needs to be thrown in prison first, so he can be raped and murdered there first.

I am astounded at the arrogance of this fucking piece of shit.

I've mentioned this before, but I find it absolutely hilarious that Meryl Streep in particular is trying to be some figurehead in the #MeToo movement but is refusing to say anything about the likes of Polanski and Woody Allen, you know, actual fucking creeps as opposed to the mostly innocuous shit passing as "sexual abuse" these days. You can't really try to say you're for something like #MeToo while trying to defend an actual child rapist.

I wonder if that will change any now that Polanski's come out against #MeToo despite his history of actual sexual assault. I don't think it will all that much, but since #MeToo has been making quite a number of people in Hollywood unpersons, who knows.

He really did nothing wrong. It was a time when things were different. Its fucking hypocritical to ban him from everywhere. He made some of the best movies ever also!
He didn't 'have sex' with a child. He drugged her so that she was still conscious but unable to fight as he raped her orally, anally and vaginally, all while she cried, screamed and begged him to stop. I don't think, "Times were different" quite covers his level of swine shit.

Of course this is horrible you autists. I was just drunk and a tryhard. Sexual assault is always horrible and hopefully Polanski gets jailed for life.

The psychiatrist who evaluated Polanski in Chino Prison did not classify him as a pedophile.

She did not look prepubescent.
Heh, out of context, this looks sarcastic.

But yeah, that picture's really gross. The girl herself does indeed look prepubescent. The parts of the photograph that don't look prepubescent are her clothes and posing, which is entirely the fault of the pedo (or pedo adjacent) photographer/mother/whoever else.
