Played for a bit, made content for the game, bought every DLC,
even considered seriously aiming to become a pro;
stopped playing after they sold out to Epic Games
(locking K.I.T.T. , which I predicted would appear someday, to purchase only on EGS)
and my then-partner -former best friend- got addicted to crack cocaine
and abandoned it altogether for almost 4 years.
I picked it up again a couple of months ago,
now that my partner -currently living in another country,
after years of non-communication- sobered up, found God,
and one of his brothers signed a pro contract with Cloud9.
Took me like a month to pick up the pace and surpass my previous self.
Feels good.
While most of the garbage AAAs make you keep right-clicking to aim
and left-clicking to shoot, or the perenially insipid nature of fútbol games
to press buttons to pass and shoot on goal, Rocket League forces you to think in 360º
and becomes a relentless series of mind games, setups and bait-and-switches,
especially among those who have a cultural grasp on actual fútbol
(mainly AR tryhards, BR plagues and CL subhumans, UYs are tough motherfuckers).
And when in doubt: Demolition. Works wonders to crush rival's morale,
which I shouldn't enjoy as much as I actually do, but that's why I play, goals be damned.
There's just nothing like it. Too bad it has been assimilated by Communists
and has been used to steal copious amount of personal data
from every Steam Library that has been linked to Epic Games by unsuspecting kids.-
