Nintendo Minigames

On a little side tangent: I always loved when old ROBLOX games like Nintendo Minigames gave you the option to morph into sprites or pngs of a copyrighted character, it was hilarious and oddly satisfying seeing a 2D Mario compete with other 3D lego people in a obby. Kinda wish more games gave you an option like it, but I guess only ROBLOX would make it look "natural".

I remember trying these morphs in-game and being amazed at how they appeared "animated" because I'd never seen that in a Roblox game. Also, morphs that were just a static 2D image of a character were pretty common in older games, likely because they were easier to make than normal ones. My memory may be fuzzy, but I think they were called "paper morphs"?

Im honestly horrified at how retarded the higher ups are. I fucking miss Little Big Planet for the kiddos, it had its issues too but never as industrial as this. And discord didnt exist

I remember it being crappy back then, but not crappy to this extent. But at the same time we didn't have much besides skype, which wasn't used as often was discord was. The higher ups are retarded, but at the same time, they won't care because it brings them all the money.

Most definitely, Roblox studio now has an issue where if you click on an instance with many children, it will absolutely chug your system.

UNDEAD. MOTHERFUCKIN'. NATION. I spent all the tix I had buying the game passes for it. Good times.

I love that game but I was shocked that it turned out half of the game was stolen assets and the creator completely got away with it.

My personal fondest memory of a Roblox game is a fps game called "Silence" which blew my mind when I was a kid because it was the first time I played a game with such an indepth narrative going along with it. It's the first of it's kind I've seen and I thought more Roblox games in the future will be like this.

Tragically the game is now completely broken . It's one of those games where I want to get the RBXL files to make it work again so I can relive it all.

I’ll go first mine was base wars

Anyways to answer your question one of my favorite games was Ultimate Driving because I love driving games, this was back when it was just a simple game to drive around before Gamefam got their claws into it and turned it into another generic racing game. Blood and Iron was also a game I enjoyed a lot, Robloxity was pretty dope, there used to be all of these rp games made by a guy named st0ke that were pretty fun as well.

Quite a few, I'd say (out of the games that I'd expect people to know here, and not niche games where there were tight knit communities) I'd say TC3 was the one I played the most of, but even then that was mostly when it was released. I would occasionally hop onto it, I still do to this day to be fair (but it is pretty much dead now. - Blame the competitive scene and how that came to dominate stuff related to the community. Well that and Brokenbone not adding new features or units).

Other games that I did play quite a lot of, primarily from 2013-2014. I'd say that was really the "golden age" primarily because that's when games really evolved from their basic state, and begun to become more visually and graphically complex. One can look at 2012 and 2013 and not see much of a difference, but after Murder Mystery that's when things really started to change. Especially because of the introduction fo devex. - It was really this that I'd consider to be the cut off between old and new ROBLOX given how it basically became the point where someone could make a full time living off of ROBLOX as a game developer and was no longer something done casually.

1. Space Affliction. An interesting game, it had a massive galaxy that could be explored and one could basically just find a random planet to build on and get currency.
2. A Pirate's Life
3. Armoured Patrol (I played this mainly around Christmas time, I don't actually know the reason).
4. Galleons on and off. I came to appreciate it more a couple of years ago when I was bored at University and not doing stuff (and other people were busy) so I looked through old games.
5. Entrepreneur Tycoon. This game was interesting because it wasn't actually a traditional one. Instead, it was the joy of career progression where you basically had to hit select blocks to get money. But, there were other mechanics involved like passive income, stocks, a side quest, and a bank robbing obby.
6. City Tycoon (the original one). I just liked the unique tycoons in the game.
7. ROBLOXITY
8. Ride a Rocket to the Moon and the ISS
9. Industrial Gladiators
10. Ocean Empire. This is one of those 2014 games which really did not feel like it was on ROBLOX

There is this one prison game whose name eludes me. It was before Prison Life really got big (well there are two actually but I digress) where the prison and the "criminal mansion" was on the other side of the island (it used a free model one, pretty common at the time). I know there are games that I have not remembered that I use to play, or were not all that relevant such as innovation labs or pinewoood computer core.

Oh and I am the only one who preferred Base Wars The Island over The Land?

Silence is interesting as a game because it was actually the result of years of work. At the time the owner had their other games still open and you could play them. Pretty neat to reflect and see how it was the result of a lot of work before it. Those being the "Avert" games (Avert the Odds) but of the one I tried (Avert: One) does not work.

The Stalker was the absolute best shit ever to 13 year old me. After falling to the wayside a bit it was revamped into the stalker: reborn which added a lot of fun content, but it never quite regained the popularity it once had.
