Today, 22 years ago, Marvin John Heemeyer passed away. He entered public consciousness as the man who valiantly fought against the tyranny of government by means of improvised construction machinery.

happy Killdozer Day
Last year, we took the California Zephyr from Chicago to Sacramento.
While we were going through the Rockies, we stopped at a charming place named Granby. I took a few pictures and remarked to Mr. Cheese what a lovely little place it was.
We get home, and researched the town, and what was one of the FIRST things to pop up? Yep, Killdozer.

I came here to post this. Persepolis was really well-done and, like you said, one of the few legitimately feminist pieces of media that I genuinely enjoyed. Her family may have been a bunch of communists, but I give her a pass. It's a shame she won't get to see a free and democratic Iran.
I agree, believe it or not. It was required reading for a college World History class like a decade ago. I thought I'd hate it, but I appreciate that it's written from the perspective of a culture where feminism is actually necessary. It surprisingly sucked me in. RIP. Horrible to die of a broken heart.

Yugioh content creator, Cimoooooooo, with 378k subscribers and 2.7k videos, passed away at age 32 after hard battle with Stage IV colon cancer. I am not Yugioh player, but watched his collabs with Rarran (Hearthstone content creator), he didn't look sick.

Buffy is one of my favorite TV shows, and Giles is one of my favorite characters in media. It feels bad man.

I liked the episode where he ends up acting like a younger man and having a good time with Buffy’s mother, Joyce. It was a cute change of pace.

He was, apparently, like a stevedore in bed.

And it’s Anthony Stewart Head, fuckin’ bastards.
Anyone who uses (and insist others use) their full name just comes across as pompous. Sorry, but 99.99999% of us get by with given and surnames, so trying to "brand" yourself using this method is kinda lame.

(I got pretty irritated once when a financial institution I had a loan through printed my full name -- including middle name --von correspondence sent via snail mail.)

Insisting on a middle initial is pushing it, but understandable if you have a very generic name or share one with an uber famous person (eg, Michael B. Jordan).

Oh, fuck off. It was half a joke because most of us only know him by that full name from the show Buffy.

It doesn't matter. He used the name Anthony Head on his own album, so he himself shortened his name.

Sometimes it’s because of things like SAG cards. The names have to be distinct.

It's always been a thing with actors' unions / guilds (SAG, Equity etc), where if someone wants to join but shares the name of an existing member, they have to change their name. The most obvious example I can think of is David Walliams, whose real name is David Williams, yet there was already a David Williams in Equity. Oddly apropos too, on account of Anthony Head's role in Little Britain as the Prime Minister, which was fucking hilarious).

tbh I find the adoption of the surname "Walliams" to be more jarring than if he's just used his middle name or initial in order to differentiate himself from the first David Williams, but no doubt he had his reasons.

As for the use of a middle name or initial in a stage name, you'd have to be more than just lightly brushed with the 'tism to get that worked up over it.
