My cat. Why? There was nothing wrong with her yesterday. Nothing that I could see anyway? No. Just no.

This is one of those moments in my life when I wonder if it's even possible for shit to get worse. I guess Bob Dylan could die.

Cats are great wee animals. Solid 10/10 little buddies. But they take a bit of us when they go.

I'm so sorry, friend :(

Same thing happened with one of mine a few years ago. Perfectly healthy, friendly, in good spirits, then one morning (after greeting me happily earlier that morning without issue) she just walked into the living room, started yowling with every breath, and despite rushing her that instant to my vet 5 minutes down the road and them getting her into their OR immediately (I lucked out that they'd just opened), and despite getting her into an oxygen tent and starting a saline drip, etc., they couldn't figure out WTF was wrong with her and she crashed almost immediately. No fucking clue what happened. She literally went from "fine" to "gone" in a span of 30 minutes.

You have my deepest sympathies. It's never easy to lose one no matter what, but having one just spontaneously and instantly decide to just simply "stop" is the fucking worst.

That happened with one of our cats as well. He was all loving and happy, then a few minutes later he started making an odd gulping noise, and laid down and died.
We didn't even have time to call the vet.

It's been a few years, but I still find myself reaching down to pet him, to realize he's not in his spot.
