We will update this blog as more information arises.

edit, updating with quotes from the thread. you may have to go to the posts I'm quoting to see all the media:

You guys are terrible at throwing random rumors around. Source up or shut up.

Sources say two guards stabbed and everything under lockdown and control. No deaths yet.

Anything about roving gangs of armed prisoners are just rumors spread by retards.

Found this on YouTube. Had no views.

I'm posting these here and I'll try to upload them as soon as I can. Apologies if they have been posted before.

What security level is this prison supposed to be?
Re-reading the info of the prison on GA Dept of Corrections, seems that it isn't as secure as I thought it would be. I was thinking it was just a level or two below supermax but it just says Security Level: Close. Which from brief research is just medium with not allowing them to go anywhere inside without a guard.

Heard that the phones were smuggled in. Don't know how plausible that is, given that it seems very difficult to smuggle stuff into a place as secured as what the prison supposedly was.

There's always a dude selling phones and other contraband. Whether it's bent guards paid to look the other way or otherwise, drugs, phones, things that can be made into weapons, and other shit always seem to make their way in.

Which from brief research is just medium with not allowing them to go anywhere inside without a guard.

And in this case, seems all that meant was there's always a convenient hostage to take.

Plus with a power outage that was all the advantage they needed. Maybe my hair turned into tinfoil, but I'm a little suspicious about how convenient the power outage was.

Some alleged CO on that Twitter thread said that's bullshit, that the prison has a generator that automatically turns on if power outside goes out. Also all the video on the inside had bright lights on.

It seems this prison has had issues earlier this year as well!
https://www.yc.news/2020/01/10/horrific-leaked-photos-show-inmates-operating-georgia-based-prison/ (archive)
AMERICA’S prison world has been shaken to its core by fed-up inmates who have overtaken an entire prison, and the out-of-control inmates newly found freedom threatens to spark a national prison war!

The madness is erupting at Roger State Prison – deemed one of the toughest, meanest maximum-security hellholes ever built – behind electrified barbed wire fences and housing some of the Georgia’s most infamous inmates.

“If the requests aren’t met, there will be a bloodbath. What’re they doing to do, lock them up?” a source close to the situation told yc.news. “You’re talking about prisoners overtaking a prison. People are in for a surprise.”

The photos obtained by yc.news sent a shock wave across the nation and put the Department of Corrections on red alert! Now executives are worried it will lead to a power struggle, pitting long-standing murderers against authorities.

“It will be the ‘Mother of All Wars!’” declared our Bureau of Prisons insider. “They’re done fooling around with authorities,” said an inmate at the overrun facility. “Lawyers sat back and did nothing – we will remedy that!”

The fed-up inmates’ erratic behavior comes on the heels of our exclusive report about The GEO Group’s inhumane prison conditions.

“No one is allowed access into the ‘penthouse’ which houses the new staff appointed by interim Warden ‘Tigga,’” an inmate who managed to smuggle in over 100 cell phones said. “If someone tries going in, the doormen turn them away and if they don’t leave there’s serious trouble!”

“Tigga has consolidated power internally, and there are no signs of serious dissent within the prison regime,” said the inmate. “The last thing we want is another Warden like the last one – he’s gone now. This new regime [is] gonna be hard to top. They call Tigga the ‘prison Kardashian’ – he always up to some reality TV sh-t!”

TLDR: prisoners were running the prison from the inside. attaching one of the many photos they have in the article

Additionally here is the warden of the place it seems:

Why did they use his Grindr photos for the article?

I was going to say that you are right (and you might well be), but I assumed the bright lights were from the power coming back on. But by the time it did, it had already been taken over. How long does it take for a complex like that to switch from regular power to the generator?

God if this is some kinda subversive Op by the little darlings of the extreme left, at what point will the MSM be unable to control the hypothetical narrative in a worse case scenario.

Um, never? ANTIFA could be dragging people out of their homes and beating them to death and the media would still take their side.

There's no level of violence that would make the media not take the left's side.

I could be wrong about that though and I hope I am.

My bullshit detector exploded into a pile of smoking rubble after reading that article. Let's have a look at the author:
2511.png

Visit his Wikipedia page for a rundown on who this guy is. Just a short sampling of his history:

Since 2006, he's filed over 2600 lawsuits in federal courts against people and entities. He tried to get a restraining order against not only Rockstar Games, but Grand Theft Auto, the game itself.

Said he met Bernie Madoff on eharmony.

He allegedly drove to Connecticut and impersonated the uncle of Adam Lanza, the shooter in the Sandy Hook Elementary School incident.

Some of Riches' defendants are not even persons subject to suit. These include "Adolf Hitler's National Socialist Party" and the "13 tribes of Israel." One lawsuit, in which George W. Bush was the first-named defendant, also includes another 783 defendants that cover 57 pages. They include Plato, Nostradamus, Che Guevara, James Hoffa, "Various Buddhist Monks," all survivors of the Holocaust, the Lincoln Memorial, the Eiffel Tower, the USS Cole, the book Mein Kampf, the Garden of Eden, the Roman Empire, the Appalachian Trail, Plymouth Rock, the Holy Grail, Nordic gods, the dwarf planet Pluto, and the entire Three Mile Island.

I think it's safe to say that anything he says is a complete lie. It mentions Roger [sic] State Prison, last night's incident happened at Ware State Prison. It mentions an insider at the Bureau Of Prison (which is Federal) but this happened at a state facility which falls under the Department of Corrections. The images themselves are likely real inmates somewhere in the GA DOC (uniforms match up) but any of that text is made up fantasies by this mentally ill author.

Why do they allow these faggots phones tho? Between that one set of photos with that doucbebag holding the shank, all the inside footage, and what appears to be am iPhone charger in one of the clips this "prison" seems to play pretty loose on the inmates.

Wouldn't have happened under Arpaio.

Smuggled phones are in every prison. Between staff smuggling and prisoners on work detail bringing them in, there are more than enough to go around. Just like drugs in prison, there's too much money to be made to eradicate the problem.

Well for one thing, it's wholly legal to defend yourself against a man in a prison jumpsuit, minecraft style of course. :reality:

But I hope this doesn't spill out and start a string of prison riots/breaks.

I dunno, it really depends on how big the story is. If it's too big to ignore, they may have to face the facts lest they wind up on the wrong end of the DOJ's national designation of Antifa as terrorists.

Most of the murders committed by BLM and Antifa in the past two months have been either poor blacks in inner-city hoods or were mainly incidents where it gained traction on the local media but was small enough to quash on the national level (like the mom in Indianapolis) and the CNN arson was a largely bloodless affair that happened in the early part of this coup when all the mega-corporations were backing BLM and Antifa in earnest, but they've been slacking off on that outside of the MSM and Silicon Valley trying to play the usual "peaceful protests" canard.

I think the Antifa/BLM monster has gotten completely out of control and the corporate bigwigs are slowly backing off as much as they can without actively helping Trump. They still want to stop Orange Man Bad so they can't back Trump and Barr's plays.

If Antifa does something that's too big to memory hole (and can't be effectively spun as some kind of "white supremacist" false flag) then the MSM will be in a very tight spot and may be forced to denounce Antifa even if just to avoid liabilities (and they'll likely tack on whataboutism directed at Trump and the right)

This prison riot might be the true beginning of the end depending on whether or not enough of the escaped inmates start directly attacking civilians and whether or not this sparks off a wave of nationwide prison riots. If that happens, it could very well be the "Charlottesville Moment" for the Woke Left.

EDIT: While @greengrilledcheese brings up a good point about not trusting anything that comes out of Jonathan Lee Riches's mouth, something like this could be the spark to set off a powder keg in the nation's prisons.

damn I'm completely blind, thank you for catching that, this came up in my searches about this prison and I guess I read the name into it. I'll update the post to indicate it's a different prison and also note that the author is exceptional

Shouldn't take more than a few seconds to switch over. They use the same system hospitals use for such power outages, which is just an industrial sized version of the same automatic generators that you can get for your house or business. The initial outage might buy you a few seconds of shock and surprise but you won't have enough time to do anything with it unless its some kind of planned outage you were waiting for to make a move, which this doesn't appear to be

Good lord this is surreal. Trying to get an idea of the utter chaos going on through 140p prison cell phones is very reminiscent of those early Iraq-war videos we got in the early '00s.

I saw somewhere say that the prisoners allegedly weren't being fed because COVID started cutting into prison meal supplies, which is why they broke into the armory and took over the prison.
I'm trying to find a source to confirm it right now.

If this is the actual reason for the riots its pretty hard to argue with.

It would flip over nearly immediately. The loss of power would trigger the generator, and as soon as it turned over and started generating power, the power would come back on. Possibly not everything would be on the emergency power, though most of the lights certainly would be.

It's my understanding that the market for flip-phones still exists, not because of Luddite or blind boomers, but because it's a lot easier to smuggle one in the 'ol prisonpocket.... or multiples, with an "experienced" mule.

But most importantly, they have a much longer battery life, and can still be easily disassembled for stashing; i.e. one inmate keeps the battery & charger, another the SIM card, etc, and new phones are a lot harder to completely destroy without completely incinerating them. Even smashing a smartphone with a 10lb sledge isn't as effective or guaranteed.

Not to derail from the thread but that reminds me of how cassettes manages to survive due to being the only allowed music format in prisons. Interesting how prisons can allow the market for items to survive that are dead on the outside.
