People like to pretend the FSF is important for all these vague bullshit reasons, usually as a way to circle back around to explain why it's bad RMS is involved. Actually the only important part of the FSF is the stewardship of the GPL licenses, everything else is a distraction/bloat/grift.
They're certainly spiraling around like vultures waiting for their chance to fuck that up, too. Look at that repulsive faggot Drew DeVault.

Stallman's site is still getting updates. Figured it was worth it to archive today's front page
> Upcoming talks

Purgugal on Wednesday, April 17
Talk in Braga, Portugal, Free Software and Freedom in a Digital Society at University of Minho, April 17, 16H00 at Campus de Gualtar.
I guess that part needs a bit of updating but wow, he's still getting invited to talk at Universities?

He has weird instance on disallowing hyperlinks to articles with "symbolic bigotry" or needing to include a something like a disclaimer about hyperlinks with it in his daily political notes.

*The Mortality of the US Homeless Population*

The article linked to just above displays symbolic bigotry by capitalizing "black" but not "white". (To avoid endorsing bigotry, capitalize both words or neither one.) I denounce bigotry, and normally I will not link to articles that practice it. But I make exceptions for some articles because I consider them important — and I label them like this.

Writing "Black people and white people" he disapproves of. Writing "black people and white people" he approves of. Or writing "Black people and White people" he approves of.

This entire idea of symbolic bigotry shows off his "Kumbaya" side. I couldn't imagine taking offense about letters. I think both Black and White should be capitalized when they refer to the race of each simply because they are proper nouns, like how I would capitalize Asian, English, Indian, Okinawan, Ugandan. Stallman thinks they should be either both capitalized or neither because it somehow would promote bigotry, yeah right.

I think most accounts of what he'd call "symbolic bigotry" are authors simply not thinking too hard about whether or not they should hold shift when writing the word. How asinine.

Evidently he doesn't have a problem linking to pages that 404 on his own site.

If you've ever used Unix or Linux you'd know that remembering to hold the shift key down or not when typing in arguments for most commands can determine if you'll still have your home folder there after pressing enter or not.

On the other hand knowing he's still around to write articles that make people laugh or rage despite his cancer battle is good. The Tech world would be far less interesting if Stallman had never started GNU.

They're colors. They've never been proper nouns in that context. Every other single word you list that is capitalized is named after a geographical entity that is itself capitalized. Asia, India, Okinawa, Uganda.

Crosspost from open source thread:
It seems a new "report" has been published (archive) on Richard Stallman of Free Software Foundation fame, reminiscing of the open letter (archive) from a few years ago, but far lengthier and much more loaded, clearly the result of some organized effort between people; the authors did not disclose themselves yet. The last time many people jumped onto the drama, both against and in support of him, I'm not sure if there's going to be a repeat of that also given his health issues lately, but it's already being pushed around and the usual suspects won't skip the opportunity to chime in, too.

Castigated by the programming community?

Let me guess: he didn't deepthroat the tranny cock hard enough.
no, it's basically a full list of everything that we already knew, he's hits on women coworkers in an overbearing way, the usual age of consent "arguments" he makes, "is statutory rape really rape if the 15 year old wants it", and "i fingered a parrot to orgasm"

my hot take on it is this: it's nothing new, stallman's shitty reputation is already well known, no new or (actually) influential organization would associate with him due to that, and thus the report serves no purpose other than to chase clout for some anonymous coward author who will only reveal themself if Total Stallman Destruction is successful

Just sent an email to RMS, whom I've personally met on multiple occasions and hosted at my own home. Love him or hate him, the man's a legit luminary. Imagine a world where you could independently audit the source code of your online banking platform that holds all your money. Chances are, you'd find a ton of shoddy practices like SQLi vulnerabilities and improper data storage. I've seen it before, where POST variables are written to the database and people's SSNs are stored in plaintext.

I'm fairly sure these aren't supposed to be confidential - it's just that all of America decided that security through obscurity was a good thing for some reason
I wouldn't be so MatI if these weak little numbers and their shitty paper cards weren't used in every facet of modern life. Maybe a good compromise would be that for new SSNs, the credit bureaus create and freeze profiles to protect against identity theft until the subjects can opt into borrowing.

Anyway, back to RMS, some new cringe just dropped in the form of the Stallman Report [a], an apparently serious attempt to catalogue every stupid thing he's ever posted on his personal website. The amount of autism contained in this document is off the charts, especially when you consider its context in the endless autism of the GNU GPL vs. BSD License debate. Hell, OpenBSD even wrote a song about it.

Fucking hell, I've been scooped.

Scans of a novelty dollar bill that RMS left instead of a real tip at Emma's Pizza in Kendall Square in the mid-2010s. This whole encounter was funny, as he insisted on sitting under the speaker and constantly complained the music was too loud. He also ate most of the pizza himself and we split the bill. Before meeting him, a friend had convinced me that emails starting with the "NSA and FBI agents" message were really from his secretary, so the email thread beforehand was amusing to say the least.

Code:
[[[ To any NSA and FBI agents reading my email: please consider ]]]
[[[ whether defending the US Constitution against all enemies, ]]]
[[[ foreign or domestic, requires you to follow Snowden's example. ]]]

I do find it quite amusing that he is just a stereotypical academic commie. While being worshiped as a computing god. I bet you need a crowbar and 6 cans of WD40 to get in to his wallet. "Tipping? That place in China?" Did he happen to mention something about Kulaks and being subhuman? lol
