Yeah this didn't happen. He was smeared in an attempt to remove him from the FSF. I actually read the blog posts directly from the source when none of the (((media))) seemed keen on actually linking to for some reason and it boiled down to (paraphrasing) "the women in question were probably being coerced into coming onto people and the guy in question might have been unaware of that and mistaken it for genuine affection". This is exactly the kind of pedantic detail oriented thing I would expect from someone who founded the Free Software Foundation AND the posts in question were already several years old at the time so it's hard to see it as anything but another gayop by corpos and journos after they got linus and forced their CoCk into linux. I suppose you also think the defense distributed guy should be in jail for 20 years because the FBI paid a 17 year old to say she was 18 and fuck him right?

You would think here of all places people wouldn't blindly accept and then perpetuate smears by the media about people that are clearly fighting for their rights but here we are. I find you extremely contemptible.

He says it's lymphoma in the video, though that was hard to make out because of the mask. Being fat and not eating vegetables increases your risk of lymphoma, so his unhealthy habits are catching up with him. I saw him give a talk many years ago, and he's a lot fatter and more disgusting in person, but I'll never forget his description of Facebook as having "useds" rather than "users".

This is retarded, stories about Stallman being completely unable to control himself sexually have been around for years before anyone ever heard of MeToo or any of this shit. And no one benefits more from the new icon of Linux evangelism being someone likeable who is remotely competent at public speaking and PR than whoever these mysterious corporate anti-open source people are. Having Stallman's encrusted beard as the face of the "movement" for 30 years is everything Bill Gates could have asked for.

Nah, you're fucking retarded. For one you seem to be implying that if not for RMS there would automatically be some gigachad doing a better job pushing for free software. Why you think RMS and the FSF existing prevents this mythical free software gigachad from showing up I can only guess.

For two you are replying to someone saying RMS was smeared with bullshit allegations with... vague and entirely unsubstantiated allegations. If you're going to try to smear someone who has spent the past four decades fighting for free software you could at least give us a link to hacker news or buzz feed to laugh at instead of fucking nothing.

Does anyone want to hear about the few times I've eaten with RMS and various friends of his? The guy falls firmly into the "I don't agree with everything you say, but disagreeing with you will squander the value of your wisdom" type of territory.

In a nutshell, I went for pizza with him back in the day, where he insisted on sitting directly under the speaker and complaining that the music was too loud. He ate most of the pizza and tipped the waitress with a fake parody dollar bill. This was in my LibrePlanet phase.

I reconnected with him several years later where we had lunch with a few friends and hung out after they left. He made a couple lewd comments about some passing women, notably a literal blue hair with a curvy body, while insisting that I convince my employer to rewrite their whole backend from scratch to use free software.

The most surreal experience was serving him sushi at my home, where he sperged for 10+ emails about how I'd fuck up the rice. I ended up fronting him a lobster roll from a specific place and he reciprocated by bringing these awesome appetizers from a nearby restaurant.

I learned later that another friend met him at a party way back and RMS gave his girl an olive, expecting her to spit the pit into his hand. That was his mating ritual and apparently it worked. My friend got olive pitted hard.

I have no idea what happened, though I assume a deep talk and maybe a kiss on the lips. My friend and I talked about it at length and I know it was a factor in his withdrawal from several FOSS projects, but that may be because she was his ride back. I won't speculate on RMS's encounter with the girl, only what I've directly been told.

RMS is generally an enigma to me, e.g., he's worth an estimated $10 million but lives in shithole East Boston. His friends are great at doing the "social stuff" for him and usually quite interesting in their own right, being various people involved in FOSS and privacy. Not necessarily luminaries as RMS himself, but excellent people.

(A)GPLv3 contains an automatic Change License Agreement (CLA) for any future versions of GPL. This was done due to "problems" associated with getting GPLv2 software to upgrade to GPLv3. You can void the CLA by appending "-only" to your SPDX identifier and removal of the "or any later version" from your LICENSE notice (not the actual GPL license, but your notice of license).

I say this because RMS's super power is his crippling autism which prevents him from becoming ideologically compromised regarding the tenants of the FSF. Once RMS is dead, someone else will be in charge. It's safe to assume FSF will become ideologically compromised. That is why I do not use the "or later" clause.

People like to pretend the FSF is important for all these vague bullshit reasons, usually as a way to circle back around to explain why it's bad RMS is involved. Actually the only important part of the FSF is the stewardship of the GPL licenses, everything else is a distraction/bloat/grift.
