There is nothing I can see in the case and point to and say "this is what Zaid brought to the table" other than utterly idiotic tweets including yesterday's with an apparent admission of his client's goals to drive people his client doesn't like out of business, apparently using illegal means.

It's complicated. Others have mentioned most of it already, but companies are in a fairly tough spot.
- Big companies are slow to react and not exactly in touch with what's popular. So some still operate under the assumption that industry journalists represent the fans.
- SJWs and journalists generate impressions, and if you believe there's no such thing as bad publicity then getting those headlines is a good thing.
- Most companies don't want to be slandered and inundated with hate mail, and assume that apologising and throwing the far left a bone will get them to shut up and go away.
- Related to the previous point, no one wants to be the guy that takes the heat for kicking SJWs to the curb. Like when DC announced a bunch of woke books the day they fired a female CEO.
- Some of this is executives covering their arses. "Well, woke media X got all these impressions and good reviews. It's not my fault it flopped."
- If something bombs, the company needs to know why it bombed and SJWs in "community management" aren't going to blame themselves or their politics. They are going to find some scapegoat like "alt right smear campaign" or "bigots spamming the reviews with bots".
- Related to the previous point, some companies will blame bombs on consumer taste. eg. Nintendo will release shit Metroid and Starfox games that no one wants like Federation Force or Starfox Command and say "Well, I guess no one likes Metroid or Starfox any more, let's put the franchise on ice for 5-10 years."
- I don't want to be a broken record, but the last few months I've noticed lots of 30-something SJWs still think they are young and in touch with the kids.
- Echo chambers. They don't see the criticism because all dissent is blocked.
- After their original works fail, SJWs form the theory that things are popular just because they're popular. If their woke politics was under the right brand name (Star Wars, Mass Effect, Ghost Busters, Captain America, etc) then it will just as popular and the minorities, women, and LGBT will all buy it as well. And as said in a previous point, any failures are chalked up to other excuses like the natural decline of print media (ignoring the booming manga industry).

(aka, he was the most high-powered attorney Waid had ever met) I think Zaid's ONLY purpose was to be a big enough, MSM-guest enough, google-able name that Meyers was intimidated out of pursuing action against Waid. Ironically, the posturing asshole manchild was seemingly taken in by another equally posturing manchilld.

There's an outfit of public defenders in one of NYC's boroughs I shall not name here who got in buckets of trouble some years ago because they had gotten into the habit of appealing their clients' convictions on the basis of ineffective assistance of counsel. That is to say, they went to appellate judges and blatantly told them that they had fucked up the representation so badly that the court needed to overturn their clients' conviction. The trial judges eventually got so sick of it that they announced they would sanction any attorney who had the balls to argue ineffective assistance against themselves.
I got to wonder if Zaid is trying something similar, deliberately tanking the case instead of just pretending he did.

There's no such principle in civil law. If your lawyer fucks up, you don't get shit unless you sue them for malpractice. Zaid appears to be skating on thin ice and dancing up to the lines of getting sued for defamation personally.

Well, if Zaid does it for the PR and not money, or Waid things his pockets are deeper, they might try to get a Zaid sued by meyer for the same stuff as waid, that could be a problem and would take ages to resolve, costing meyer alot of money.

I had completely forgotten that. Well, my knowledge of civil law was always academic at best. Fortunately for us, given Waid's anger management issues the day may soon come where we see him in criminal court.

Zaid is showing how much of a "super-lawyer" he is by resorting to the same r-tarded reasoning that RenFatAss does. "Oh, Meyer was in the same area at the same day, and that's all the proof I need!!!!"

Looking at Zaids behavior now, I think a strategy might be to lure Meyers into either filing or Threatening to file for defamation against Zaid TOO, just so he could stroll into court and claim "Meyers is LITIGIOUS and oversensitive! He'd sue ANYONE. He'd sue his own MOTHER. Didnt you file suit against ME, to intimidate me?"
