Zaid's latest tweets conclusively establish that he is aware of Mark Waid's misrepresentations to the court and instead of jumping on notifying the court of this "accidental" inaccuracy, he's instead chimping out on social media.

PROTIP: It goes way worse for your client, you personally, and the buffoons who signed off on p.h.v. status if it's the other side who has to inform the court of your client's lying under oath.

Also right after the weasel words Waid "cleverly" hid inside parentheses because these dumb Texas hicks apparently can't read anything inside parentheses, he said this: "I have not made any statements regarding Plaintiff while I was in Texas, or otherwise engaged in any conduct while in Texas involving Plaintiff."

I.e. affirmatively flat out lying.
Just want to publicly thank you and the other kiwilawyers for being here to translate legalese into normiespeak. We can look at it and know shit ain't right, but we'd never be able to articulate exactly what it is.

I can see opposing counsel taking pity on his fellow Texas Lawyer who was saddled with Zaid. But I can’t see Byrne having much call or gaining much benefit from getting involved or granting mercy to Zaid. “When your enemy is making mistakes, do your best to not interfere.”

Why wouldn't he want it on the record that he gave the other side every opportunity to correct the record, but they failed to do so?

Is that a point of professional ethics, or just good manners? Because if the latter...
Its letting them take all the rope they need to hang themselves, if they never correct themselves, despite being given every opportunity, it looks way way worse.

I'm gonna be a little disappointed when he doesn't use a pair of S&W 500s to propel himself into the air Yosemite Sam style after ZWaid piss him off.

Good sir, this is federal court in Texas, not county. They are more civilized. He will just shove his wad of chaw to the left side of his mouth and berate Zaid 6 inches from the man, so as to allow a fine mist of spit and tobacco to loving paint itself across the smug east coast lawyers face.

In all seriousness though even if Zaid corrects the record he can't just delete the memory.

This is his only opportunity to redeem this in any way.

It's obvious from the weasel words he had Waid put in his declaration that he was aware of these business trips to Texas, and no reasonable person would view a person in the comic book business attending a comic book conference and giving "free" signatures (but only if you bought something) as anything but commercial. This wasn't a fucking vacation.

Instead of being candid about it, he weaseled around, buried shit in parentheses, and otherwise downplayed it and Waid explicitly lied in saying he had essentially not spoken a word about Meyer while in Texas, despite having in fact defamed and generally bad-mouthed him publicly.

somehow, if he was given that chance, he'd probably screw it up anyway. It's becoming quite clear Zaid is pretty unethical

I strongly suspect he knows the case is a surefire loser (especially in Texas) and so he's latching onto it to use the SJW-autism of the anti-CG crowd to burnish his own profile. Kinda nice to see someone using Mark Waid like the filthy whore he is.

More like he has more ego then common sense. There is nothing unethical about trying to argue if the court is the proper venue. It's really common. But to perjure yourself in the opening salvo on a motion you aren't going to prevail on anyway is really dumb. The question now is which is greater. His ego or his brain. He needs to amend his filing but that would mean admitting he fucked up.

I was called a hero for "stopping" a vaccination program, now let's stop Comicsgate:

Can someone dig up info about that vaccination case? Im curious to see why hes so proud about delaying the vaccination of soldiers against a disease used as a bioweapon.

The drug wasn't FDA approved and was basically the last holdover of using army guys as guinea pigs. It took two years to get FDA approval in the middle of the iraq war and long before we knew the wmd capabilities of Saddam's was some rusted ass barrels buried in the desert containing mustard gas.

tl;dr is that the vaccine's efficacy was never proven and there were studies that showed it caused chronic and short term health problems while even more studies said it was safe. As noted in the tweets, it was administered long after the court ruling.

They moved to an informed consent model and most people who weren't already on it (you needed boosters and such) opted not to do it.

The anthrax attacks were also probably by literal mad scientist Bruce Ivins, who sent out the anthrax because he was upset that his vaccination program was being canceled.

The efficacy of the vaccine itself was questionable at best.

The overwhelming majority of guys I knew were on it well after '04. Some guys stopped after a few treatments because it gave them what felt like a bad flu for a week or two and was a general pain in the ass. Never bothered me. We had no idea about the efficacy. Maybe POGs didn't use it, but grunts sure did. Also, being contrarian was another primary motivator for opting out. Since you aren't given many option in the military, you choose no sometimes just because. Command highly encouraged us to get it.

I love those tweets. Not only do they show just how disengenuous Waid’s Lawyer is. They highlight Renfamous as the worlds worst accountant. Hey REN! When an author is at a book signing, even if he’s not getting paid, it is still a business function. He is directly and deliberately marketing his product in that location. This is what is known as “conduction business”. Do you think Mark didn’t list that con as a “business trip”? REN, in your attempt to claim he did no wrong, you just put yourself forward as a witness to Mark Waid doing comic publishing and marketing business in the State of Texas, within the past 6 months. And provided a picture of him in a commercial setting! Well Done! Not only did you not help his case, you put yourself on the witness list for discovery. So what next? Are you gonna try and help him by claiming “those hookers were already dead when he got there? “

Anthrax is out there in the wild and driving tanks in the swamps of iraq has a pretty high risk of getting the spores into the air/water.
