Well......the case for Meyer is pretty strong, and that is all because Waid is a giant virtue signalling SJW. I see a similar pattern in the Damore-Google affair where the wrongdoing is crystal clear and documented. That is the big difference between the current left-leaning Social Justice discrimination of today when compared to the unlawful activities of yesteryear.

It used to be that you would just refuse to hire broads, or the nogs, and if you ever talked about it you did it in a smokey back room or on the golf course with your buddies. You didn't go publishing front page news articles about it because some shyster Jew would come a bothering you about it and besides that kind of talk was improper. Hence discrimination cases were very difficult to prosecute.

These new left-wing social justice warriors like Waid and Google, however, live in these insane echo chambers that make them feel like they are doing the socially acceptable thing and that they have to brag about it. Waid made tweets stating his intent before the call, and tweets after celebrating his accomplishment, Google management openly boasted about blacklists, and so on. This drive to get ass-pats from their fellow SJWs will absolutely, positively drive them all to self incriminate.

They can't help themselves, the insecure little bastards can only do 'good' if they get cheered along.

This is endemic to the Social Justice circles. We saw it with Zarna Joshi, with Cuck Norris, with Google, and with countless others we cover. Even if they're knowingly breaking the law, even if they're on camera being filmed, they have to try to go for the virtue signal. Even if that means doing something that's obviously criminally prosecutable. General consensus is that they think the rules only apply to their enemies and the ends always justify the means.

The entire ideology is based around showing your loyalty to the cause, openly and as loudly as you can to show you're a member of the enlightened.

It's not like criminals have never done this sort of thing before, it's just that they used to videotape and personally show close friends to re-live the high from committing the crimes. Luckily for us they can now blast evidence against them all over the world to show how smart/virtuous they are and be caught easier.

Bingo. We just recently got the uber-example of this with Jordan Hunt, the woman-kicking cunt.

The dude had his face on full display, and despite knowing that he was being filmed harassing women for exercising their right to peaceful protest, goes and roundhouse kicks one of them in broad daylight. Any normal, sane person would have thought, "Gosh, if I do this, I will end up losing my job, prosecuted for assault, and this will follow me for the rest of my life!". However, goony bearded soy boys like Jordan think, "Oh boy! This will get me lots of Good Boy points, and maybe that fat goth chick at Hot Topic to let me touch her boobs!"

edit: corrected the asshole's name

So given that they're both professionals, i'm guessing no chance of getting a remake of Shaner's trial, with Zaid accusing the jury and judge of being members of Comicsgate?

I recall the 2016-1017 rise in Facebook Live murders, rapes, and lynchings.

There's about a 1% chance of that. Zaid would need to take a serious head injury for it to happen

One of Mark Zaid's other clients is the Overstreet Price Guide, which you might remember is owned by Gemstone Publishing, which you might also remember is owned by Diamond Comic Distributors, which you might remember is the monopolistic entity that distributes comics including Marvel's and DC's to comic book stores.

You might remember these are the very comic book stores who Mark Waid was willing to commit crimes to keep Richard Meyer's books from being sold in them, so that those places could instead be taken by books published by companies who he works for like Marvel.

Now, why would a big guy like Mark Zaid be interested in a situation involving a peon like Mark Waid? Is it just a coincidence one of his other major clients has direct financial interests in this market, where it is a monopolistic participant, and where the FTC might be taking an interest in its practices?

that is something we should all keep in mind during the trial. Has the agreement of extending this to novemember 2nd been reached yet?

Sorry if this is :offtopic:, but who's Cuck Norris?

Jordan Hunt. A feminist so woke his response to being challenged by a female pro-life protestor (after already trying to vandalize her property multiple times) was to roundhouse kick her in the face.

Rekieta Law has a new video up discussion the case, interesting for sure.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=8DPPviSp2V0

So the takeaways for you folks at work:

Waid switched to a new lawyer, no longer with Zaid.

This new attorney filled for an extension, which Zack is not contesting. Why? Rekieta states that switching to a new attorney is a good reason to request an extension, and objecting to it would be kind of an ass move at this juncture.

So mostly wheel spinning until the response is filed, though it is suspected (by Nick) that the opening salvo will be a request to dismiss.

Further speculation regarding the change from Zaid; possibly an issue of cost for Zaid's time, possibly a disagreement regarding to fight or settle.

I truly hope that it was because Waid wants this to go to trial, the spectacle is promising so much salt.

I should have actually read to the end of this thing. Yes, it's a new lawyer. I think the most likely thing is like Nick said, Zaid just charges too much for his budget. It's also possible, though, that they disagreed with the representation, like Zaid thought he should settle. I also think it's at least slightly possible there's a conflict of interest, since Marvel and other larger clients of Zaid could end up dragged into this at some point or perhaps already have been. If they did, it would not be in their interests for Waid to be able to claim to have been acting on their behalf, since they'd be claiming the opposite.

With Zaid out, there’s no more potential humor of Waid wearing a fake mustache pretending to be a lawyer...

But it also probably means Waid is itching for an actual courtroom & is religiously convinced that he’s right... that will make this glorious & someone better be getting that livestream ready! I know a few CGers have already stated their plan to be at the courthouse & report on it. The ad revenue alone will pay for the plane ticket to watch.
