Careful. He sued Libya, an entire country, so he's super-dee-duper hot shit now!

Let be honest. He sued Libya in Scotland, a far away land where he, much like Texas, is not licensed to practice law. So he sub contracted a competent local Lawyer, amped up the billing for doing nothing and held press conferences.

Seriously? He did that? How cucked do you have to be to go to Scotland to sue Libya? Is Zaid not American enough to do it in his own country?

The lawsuit was over the Lockerbie terrorist attack, which occurred in Scotland.

He also (allegedly) ratted out one of his clients to the CIA, at least according to some possibly conspiracy-minded folks.

They do quote a lot of transcripts that seem to show this to be the case, though.

Thinking he's a good lawyer for suing Libya is like thinking somebody's a good lawyer for getting convictions at Nuremburg.

I think it's more hilarious when Zaid is made to be a big deal because he was on TV. The average viewer age of people who watch CNN is what? 65? Better watch out, Mr. Fancy-pants here has been on a decaying redundant platform which we all know to be an absolute bastion of intellectualism. Even saw him use some of them big boy words before changing the channel to see old thots in skimpy outfits argue about why they can't find a man.

Expanded my grey matter more than doing cocaine during a Richard and Mortimer marathon.

Bets on Waid and Zaid being dragged out of the court screeching about how the court is full of Nazis.
That seems a bit extreme, but theres a chance Waid is held in contempt for trying to speak over the judge with some dumb shit about nazis and yaboi being evil.

Frankly, Meyer's silence on the lawsuit speaks volumes -- but in a good way.

I've seen it before. Idiots trying their suits in the courts of public opinion (in this case, Twitter). Guess what? No matter how many ass-pats and upvotes you get, the ONLY results that matter are going to be inside the courtroom, with the judge there.

I know that at one point, there were threads here about a certain exceptional individual named Bill Schmalfeldt. He LOVED to talk shit about his lawsuits. Guess what? He kept losing them.

One of his targets had a great saying, that I suspect Meyer has taken to heart: murum aries attigit. Literally translated, it means 'when the ram touches the wall' and is a reference to Roman policy regarding sieges. You could negotiate, and even surrender, quite equitably even during the initial parts of a siege, and possibly cut a good deal.

But when the rams came out and rolled up to your door, guess what? You're fucked. No more talking. You better hope you win, or you're gonna die.

That's where we're at now. The rams are rolling towards the wall.

Byrne et al. probably told him to keep quiet online about this and he's doing that. He's certainly not chimping out in blog comment sections like a spastic, like Mark Zaid is.

Meyer's success in the military is being showcased here: an ability to listen to superiors/specialists, and the discipline to maintain silence.

So someone asked a few pages back, but i never saw an answer, Can they record this court proceedings for the internet to enjoy???

A lot of that comes down to the judge and court, every one has different rules.

Audio or video recording of any part of a hearing or trial without the judge's permission can be a violation of court rules and regulations. An individual who attempts to record court room transactions without full disclosure to the court can be sanctioned and held in contempt of court. Each court has established policies and procedures on whether or not audio or video recording is permitted. The judge makes the final determination based on the motion and/or a hearing on the matter. Use the appropriate court form or submit a motion to the court to grant this privilege. Meetings in the judge's chambers, during mediation or between attorney and clients are strictly off limits.

So I'm late as hell, but what is with these lolcows hiring sped attorneys who are either incompetent, shysters, or incapable of keeping their mouths shut online? Landau, Zaid, Avinatti and so on. Is its an American thing for lawyers to fire off vitriol to 3rd parties and opposing counsel? Because this sort of thing would certainly get you an ethics complaint at the UK bar for bringing the profession into disrepute.

That's not to say that lawyers in the UK don't bicker and argue online, they do; but not in this heavy handed fashion, and the one who does runs an anonymous profile, so he can get away with it. It's utterly baffling to me that these attorneys are going to such lengths to make themselves look like dicks.

Avenatti wants to go into politics, so there's a certain kind of logic to his behavior. Dunno about Zaid and Landau, but I suspect late stage syphilis.

Could be that, could be a massive ego. Apparently in Racket's comments, someone said that there is a video of him admitting that he owns stolen property, though this may be hearsay. Between the whole self admitted Superlawyer, and his reactions, he seems to have an incredibly large ego.

You know what they say: 99% of lawyers give the rest a bad name.
