God the worst thing about fuckers like Rich is that if you accidentally click on one of his videos even for only like 2 seconds YouTube will recommend you nothing but his awful "content". Like I'll give him credit that he's gamed the algorithm but its always the most insufferable people that feel the need to do so.

You need to brush up on your Richard Masucci lore. He has always been like this.

The guy has made bait videos shitting on Nintendo for over a decade. He goes after Nintendo because he knows that there is a built-in group of haters that will eat his shit up and a built-in group of fanboys that will rage at him. Masucci is the definition of "never satisfied" and he has a financial incentive to never be satisfied. He's sworn off Nintendo products multiple times over the years and yet somehow he still always ends up with the newest systems and games to do videos about. The last time I paid any serious attention to this guy was 2010 maybe? Anymore it's seeing a random thumbnail here or there and recognizing that he hasn't changed his routine at all. Sometimes you get something that bubbles up and is worth tuning into but otherwise this guy is one of those YouTubers that you watch, then drop once it gets old. And he more or less depends on a constant flow of teenagers trying to relive the Console Wars to keep the ship afloat. His regular viewers and "fans" might just be the most pathetic people on the internet.

The main way Rich gets views is drama. If he just posted his banal opinions nobody would watch him. You can also see this when he lied and claimed that Call of Duty Ghosts would run at 720p when it launched due to network latency.

That's how he games the algorithm. Just like many of the channels people like to shit on here (Anti SJW and Fandom Menace) he never misses the opportunity to go after a company when they do something that causes outrage and pisses people off.
Best examples are:
  1. Nintendo bullshit
  2. Youtube bullshit
  3. DRM
  4. Shitty game launch
Like clockwork, his viewers express their outrage in the comments as well and give him the views as well.
