Once you get used to 60 fps and above. You cannot go back to those laggy ass performance again. I don't understand the mentality of people who say this. Graphics is understandable given the retro craze and what not but there's no fucking way I'm playing turok or goldeneye at sub 24 fps after experiencing those titles at 60 fps ever again.
I've had a 120hz+ monitor for 14 years. I still don't care. I hooked my 360 back up in 2014 to just play and enjoy. I rebought an N64 in 2016 and hell yeah I'm playing Goldeneye on it and not in some bootsy emulator.

I still can't get over how Switch emulation could still be going on if the general emulation bro wasn't a complete fucking retard.

Now we're going to see every project put on the shelf and picked up and resumed and deleted every few months because of faggots going "Look at me playing Pokopia on my PC"

On a sidenote, I've found it kinda funny how after downloading entire romsets of practically every console up to the PS2, my non-archived emulation folder is only around 100 GB these days. Turns out you don't REALLY need a billion games to play on the go, and I have approximately 5-10 games from every console because trying to find a game in a list of 20k games is tiring. I'm never going to play Addams Family NES or Gremlins Unleashed GBC so why even have it on hand other than for autistic completion sake.

Most of my folders are organized like this:

Full romsets for US and JP in subfolders and the main folder has stuff I think I'd be interested in. The full sets are useful if there's something you didn't expect to be into or there's a new fan translation. Also I delete all PAL games and anything related to sports.

Then you’re missing out on some top-tier racism. When the Japanese developers of Bases Loaded needed a list of white baseball player names, this is what they invented:

Never feel bad about calling them Sum Ting Wong or Ho Lee Fuk again.

(Also, if you’re like me, you might really enjoy opening your windows in the spring, smoking a joint, and playing some PGA golf video games. Very soothing.)

I know you meant your active emulation folder, but you reminded me of how complete ROMsets of old games tend to go below 1GB or even 256 MB. I am azed at how fun games take up that little space.

In my case, I just download all of the games I want, feel interesting, or are part of a series tied to these. I separate the ROMS per console, pick about 10 ROMs that I wan to play, and pu the rest inside a 'storage' folder inside the console folder. The ones outside the storage folder are the ones that I actively play. I find this useful with games that I need to get around playing.

This reminds me of when emulation apps were finally allowed officially on Apple phones and people decided to be gorilla nigger tier retards saying "oh yeah, get these games from Vimm's Lair" and then 80% of the downloads on Vimm's came down afterwards.

The worst thing about the shit framerates of so many N64 games is that they aren’t dividends of 60, so they are choppy as fuck, which makes them feel even worse.

The only thing worse was the frame tearing that ran rampant on Xbox 360 that was given a free pass at the time. That shit triggers migraines, for real.

The only things that came down were Nintendo games.

Real video games stayed up.

Are you using an Everdrive? I keep mine sorted almost like yours, except I have some additional folders for homebrew/aftermarket and romhacks. Why delete games? The nes library takes up at most a few hundred meg. My entire folder is only a few gigs and I have every known game to man, included bootlegs, homebrew, different versions of the same game and random archives of shitty romhacks from long dead sites?

Which is why most Romsites now are hidden behind an extra protection layer to keep the retards out.

I keep every game because there's always that one decent 10-20 minute game I remember exists, and It's great knowing I have it on me.

Where have you been? Switch emulation is going strong and has been for a while.

That’s a Switch 2 game.

the game basically laughs at you and tells you to give up because you're a weak faggot that will never amount to anything in life
Yeah, Abadox is a good one all right, and not the easiest one out there. I could do with more shmups with organic horror themes, and fewer anime girls. Although the Jap version of Abadox has a naked girl in it, so I guess we could have both.

You should. It's not too terrible, but it's one of those "you need a guide to play it" games, otherwise you're going to have a lot of "WHERE THE FUCK DO I GO!?!?" moments.
I dunno, it's kinda terrible. ofc, I would still always want the rom at hand to be able to be able to verify that it's still terrible and I haven't changed my mind. But SNES/Genesis Addams Family and NES Gremlins 2 are the best bets.

(I have actually played Gremlins Unleashed: the act of a desperate man, for sure)

Yes.
Why delete games?
I hate PAL and sports games are such insane clutter, it's not so bad on NES but on other platforms you have a yearly sports game for each sport and in some cases for college level for each sport for 10+ years. And I'm never going to play them.

I don't go for a mass set of romhacks in the first place because I don't think they're very interesting -- there's a few I have in a more case by case scenario like for example the color fixes for Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World.

Thinking about getting a used Xbox one S for cheap so I can play retro Call of Duty at 60FPS. Xbox mogs Playstation with back compatibility but they managed to fuck up too many times for that to matter in the grand scheme of the console war. I'd play old CoD titles on my PC if it weren't for the remote code execution vulnerability that affects all games from WaW to BO2.

When it comes to full romsets, less is more. I don't see why, unless you're masochistic or are a YouTuber, you'd want hundreds of games you'd never play or fool around with for 10 minutes or less. In the case of something like the NES, why the fuck would you want to scroll through hundreds of games if you're never going to play them? Yes, I know their covers make you feel like you own something of value, yes, I understand they'll still load quickly but you want to play Wario's Woods, not scroll through hundreds of games you'd never play.

Doubly so for the Everdrive which loads slower and is only text listings. If I want to play WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames! on my GBA, I don't want to click through dozens of pages and still be only at The Land Before Time: Into the Mysterious Beyond.

I have an N8 Pro. I don't know if your referring to the original? The menu on the pro is very fast. I keep my games segregated by region, series/game in the case of hacks and if they are official or not. Per folder, it keeps the game count down to a few hundred (the pro has a limit of 1024 games per folder anyway. You have to sort them). It takes 5-10 seconds max to find any game I want to play. I never really had an issue with it, it's convenient to keep everything in one device. It saves having to plug the SD card into your computer and find the individual rom because you forgot to download some obscure Jap game like Mitsume ga Toouru or you want to try out the Jap version of a game you like.

Systems like the NES, PCE and Megadrive don't have that many games in the first place, and they don't take up much space. I only curate rom selections in the case of CD systems like the MD or Pc-engine. The GBA is annoying though. That system does have way too many games. I think that's the only system I keep a dedicated folder for favorites just to make it easier to find the common games I want to play.

I thought of a really dumb but cool idea. The idea is that I can take a atari emulaction box and make a arcade cabinet out of that emulaction box by just buying some cheap ass at games hardware and building a arcade cabinet around that hardware, I can go further and take a real atari 2600 motherboard and turn that into a arcade cabinet machine that I can insert the game cartridges in.

Yeah the original's menu is very slow when you get a ton of games in a folder. And the limit is 256 per folder.

I got mine 12 years ago.

I find with the rate of fan translations coming out and being updated I need to put the SD card in my computer fairly often anyway, and that's usually the "new thing" I want to play.
