We had lots of arcades, at least in the places where I lived over the years. @Pissmaster, how many taiko no tatsujin machines did you see in the early 2000's? That game actually bored me because I had played so much drum mania(home version with the drum kit, never seen the arcade setup over here).
Ah, I think @Samuel Fuller misinterpreted this parenthetical to be a clarification that "Drum Mania is the home version of Taiko no Tatsujin with the drum kit, and I have never played the arcade version (Taiko no Tatsujin)" whereas it actually clarifies "the version of Drum Mania that I played was the home version with the drum kit, not the arcade version [of Drum Mania]". Because he's a retard who can read neither the posts he's replying to nor the instructions for how to reply to them.

Are you in a chat group or something? Anyway, that was the impression I got and the only way he can make up for it is to say he hugged a dog.

Apparently they wanted 007 to shake hands with soldiers at the end of Goldeneye to make the shooting seem like it was in jest, and this is why the game has the "credits" sequence during the attract mode. I've heard the suggestion came from Miyamoto himself, but that could be an urban legend.
Also, Rare wanted DK to shoot an actual gun in Donkey Kong 64. Miyamoto changed the guns to fruit guns.

What? Are you replying to my post? I never said they were the same thing, I just found taiko no tatsujin dull because I had played so much drummania.
To give you a similar example: Quest for Fame might feel boring if you have played a lot of guitar hero. This does not mean that they are the same game or released at the same time. Guitar Hero came out years after Quest for Fame but both were released after Dig-Dug.

Dig-Dug is a game where the music only plays if you are moving. This does not make it one of the earliest rhythm games despite being developed by Namco who also made TnT. I hope this clears things up and our marriage can proceed as planned.
I misread and doubled down. Dick move. I apologize.

To be fair, that is a retarded idea, and Miyamoto's suggested fix was better.

The GoldenEye suggestion was utter retardation, if true.

Not sure what you mean by that. As in am I in contact with Samuel via DMs or something? I'm not, and (so far as I've been paying attention) I've never met him before. If I've been troublesome by butting into this argument then I apologize.

Anyway, speaking of retro gaming, I've been playing Phantom Hourglass for the first time, while my friend who played it as a child watches me. It's great fun for both of us, especially in moments like when I was trying to learn to fish. The tutorial went pretty well, but then after about five tries I had to look up a guide online to manage to set the line and actually hook a fish a second time. Turns out you're supposed to drag and then hold the line, rather than flicking it. Later I had an epiphany and realised this applied when hauling the fish in as well. My friend was equally amazed. "Wait, this whole time-- ...if I'd known that when I was a kid..." No wonder the game seemed to be so lenient about registering letting go of the line during jumps, lmao.

Miya-no idea what I’m doing-to
At least he didn't have the power to can the game outright. There have been a few interviews with Japanese Nintendo ex-employees who left and went elsewhere due to Miyamoto killing projects that would have had mass appeal because he didn't understand what he was being shown.

The Splatoon team even said they were shocked when he didn't totally kill their Mario Paintball project pitch and demo, and instead told them they could make it if they came up with new characters for it, admitting he didn't personally see the appeal of the game, but trusted their faith in the idea.
