So is RetroUSB closing down shop? Permanently or for the near future? I have been using FPGA consoles for recording and shit and was finally gonna pick up their FPGA NES (i didn't before because I honestly dont particularly care for the library and couldn't justify the cost) but that doesn't seem to be an option. Is mister the only real option now? Guess I could just stick to emulation or look at modded Famicoms but damn
The analogue mini nt noir is the best console they made. Aluminum, built-in analog crt output, sounds great, also plays genesis with an snes controller adapter for 3 buttons... it's getting stupidly expensive but A+ fpga console

Their lineup looks to have been completely gutted from what it was back in 2019, like they had a repro of the Nintendo World Championship cartridge. Some of their stuff was overpriced, though, like $40 for a crappy port of Glider 4.0.

In other news I got my Everdrive for GBA today! I had emailed the company that it hadn't shipped after 10 days but then I got in the mail the next day, meaning it had already shipped, left the country, cleared customs, and had already made it to my state. I still need to get a new MicroSD card, though.

I should sell mine, I never use the damn thing.

did you ever get yours? sorry if it's somewhere in the thread I was like a year back and haven't waded my way back to now. I bought one too and mine's held up by the super dock, but I had pre-ordered another one separately to set up for my brother without the dock and it showed up at my house a week or two ago. I'm more excited now to get mine. I'm thinking about signing up for the open beta for the GUI. I've been waiting for something like that to jump into MiSter forever mainly to have it girlfriend, kid and retarded friend proof if it's hooked up in my living room.

I mainly was asking because I remembered someone in this thread also pre-ordered it and I was going to let you know if youre still waiting not to totally give up, it showed up, it works, so far it's pretty dope I can tell when I get the one for myself it'll be my daily driver for video games.

Im figuring out the kinks and getting all the setup growing pains done on this one, so when mine gets here I'm just going to be copying and pasting the SD card.
I didn't want to be left holding the bag if it didn't ship, so I told myself I was going to give it until 2026. When they didn't ship in early January, I cancelled it and got a refund. Looks like I was wrong about it not shipping, but I'll be honest, I have so much retro vidya shit, I'm not going to miss having it. Still looks like a nice device.

There's an NES reproduction on Ali that uses a 6502 and an FPGA for graphic output. I've never used one, but Youtube reviews say it works really well. There are many sellers. Some have HDMI out and some don't. It looks like this:

Damn brother, that sucks. I do too and mine might end up being a total replacement for most of it. We'll see if it develops problems in the next few months or if the GUI ends up being any good, but as an original hardware fag, it's looking like I can pack up everything besides the dreamcast, wii and ps2. Im mainly impressed with that I can hook it up to my giant old crt or the living room oled without the image looking fucked up on either.

I'd like to play with the crt masks and shit on it, but I dont want to fuck with all that stuff and get it perfect for me then give it to my brother and him just be like how the fuck do I turn this filter shit off so I'll get to that eventually.

I particularly like it has a dedicated Guncon port for ps1, the first thing I tried on it was a couple light gun games. The only thing I think that kind of sucks is im going to have to get a few Bluetooth controllers, im thinking the 8bitdo Turbographx, Genesis/Saturn and their arcade stick. I've had their Super Nintendo controller forever and it feels the most like an original out of any 3rd party ive tried.

It is just a MiSter, but I do finally understand all those guys who swear by them, I just never bit the bullet because they're so damn ugly with cords hanging out of every direction and id have to get specific upgrades and shit and this has all the ones I would want already just built in, and looks like a video game console. My other thing has always been the GUI I didnt really like, but I mainly thought anyone else using it at my place would have problems figuring it out.

Unrelated mostly, but I recently set up surround sound systems for my living room and my spare room with my games and shit in it and I've mostly been blown away lately by matrixed dolby surround implementation in retro games lately, I never really realized I had been playing these games like a peasant for 30 years.

The fact the PCSX2 emulator is as good as it is right now, all that said, is a testament to literal years of effort, and they are still trying to figure out all the quirks they have to replicate to this day.
How far has PCSX2 or even PPSSPP come with emulation on recent devices? It's asking for a BIOS that I'd need to own or obtain.

PPSSPP can run on potatoes and still not lag.

PCSX2 works flawlessly on newer machines. Only issue you might run into is the screen jitter issue but you can either spam F5 until you find a setting that fixes it or set it to auto in the options

Where's the BIOS?
There's a lot of versions of the PS2 bios, but the one that seems the most stable as I've experienced is the v2.00 bios, which means you want ps2-0200a-20040614.bin for playing American games, ps2-0200e-20040614.bin for playing European/Australian games, and/or ps2-0200j-20040614.bin for playing Japanese games. Just do a google search for one those exact names and you'll get something from Internet Archive or elsewhere.

Is myrient stuff this going to affect hshop at all? Like damn. I'm going to miss this place either way, I don't know anywhere that has a more comprehensive touhou collection.
They said for the time being it shouldn't affect hShop and any money that's being donated currently for Myrient will be used to help keep hShop up.
