Can you demonstrate that his wife becoming an activist well after his appointment has caused him to not be able to do his job? Does it have to be being an activist specifically that brings up the question of conflict of interest, as opposed to just being a family relation that you're on any terms with having conversations with you that could potentially sway you from executing your duties as they should be executed? Should they disown all their family and live as hermits in an undisclosed location in D.C., only to be wheeled out whenever they have to do their jobs? Or should their family members never be allowed to have jobs again, on the off chance that they have to render a judgment in a case that has implications for their interests in their industries?
