The dumbest part of 9's ending is "when"? When was the cure made? It was made in a lab in the center of racoon city that nobody went anywhere near after the events of 3? What? How?

This never happened and he was already a rapist in the original.
how? they explain, the Government walled off the city and the Elpis Lab was worked on by his people till completion in the quarantine zone after the RC event, he likely greased the wheels so his people could be brought in there, this was likely before 2004 when Umbrella finally ate total shit.

then The Connections set up shop to try and get Elpis , and again, through government corruption they were allowed to work there till the BSAA showed up and got wiped out and the Government did nothing again, because that's what they do in this franchise, Its Nuke or Nothing with them.

they would have already tried that in the remake, which only made him look even worse, adding Pedo shit to his list.

HOnestly almost every Resident Evil villain are comically evil, Spencer is the only one to get any sort of hubris in his arc, Carla Radames in a distant 2nd, as at least you can kind of understand why she went insane, though she was morally empty before getting Caccoon'd.
That file you pick up was written by a faggot redditor.

I nearly came when I sliced its yellow belly open and its warm guts spilled out. I still smell of wild beast. This is the life.

What fucking purpose did this serve. It's rhetorical.

You underestimate Capcuck's retardation. I have zero faith in them to not pull something that retarded.

Yea no one in this entire subforum has any faith in any company to do anything right ever, yes yes I know, yal only say this general gist every 3rd post on every thread here.
and sure alot of that is warranted, but god damn the infinite negative tsukuyomi yal are ever in is something else.

Rightfully so.

Perhaps people wouldn't be so cynical if Capcuck hadn't had their DEI plans leaked a while ago.

I don't like being so negative about things, but experience has taught me to expect the worst in current year ™️ .

I don't believe you, or any one else here who says that, yal are practically gooning while doing it.
Sad that people criticizing Cacpuck's mishandlings upset you, but they deserve the criticism, you even said so yourself:

its just the overall vibe of the entire board, not just this thread, and not just about Capcom, who deserve alot of beatings.

every discussion, about every game is some bitch fest.
People want a place to vent. They can't really do that elsewhere because the shills, especially if it involves predatory business practices that said shills push or like, catering to the wrong audience, or snubbing the established fanbase. It's a pressure that's been mounting for a while now and people are sick of it.

I think the reason it comes across as so vitriolic is due to the fact that people don't like seeing franchises they enjoyed spiral the drain as they turn to shit.

I'm back with a redemption arc.
I did some tinkering with controls, tried many different things and I'm finally enjoying playing the og RE2, though on Claire A for now.
I thought I'd prefer RE2MAke more since it was my first RE game and I don't have the nostalgy factor to make me more biased, but interestingly, I'm liking the way og did things in many cases. Puzzles are fun, residents are evil and music is great, I have no complaints so far but I'm also not that far along so we'll see.

RE2 98 is the best execution of a two scenario game that I can think of. Definitely of the genre at least. You can find videos of A and B scenarios running side by side and it fits so well.

I really have come to hate the remake. Fun to play and it's good in it's own right. But compared to the source material and it's fucking lazy. Remove the coolest mechanic the series ever had with zapping and two independent scenarios. You know, the whole reason for years RE2 was the fan fav next to RE4.

its the most serious, scariest, and most body horror of the entire franchise, pretty much at least, at least in terms of execution at the time.

The Franchise can never quite return to what RE2 was, the protags are too overpowered and capable, the Outbreaks are never quite as dire or somber.. RE2 felt like the start of a fucking Apocalypse, G-VIrus is pure total nightmare fuel, honestly the only game that comes close to the same atmosphere, gravitas and such is the first half of Code Veronica, RE3 felt like an extension of 2, in a much more action packed, less horror way.

There really is something to be said about how rote and routine the Outbreaks have become, and the world seemingly just abides them.

That has to be reserved for REmake. I was just playing it a few mins ago, and the zombies are stellar with how gory and rotted they are. Their sound design is out of this world. Not like the corny sounding shit in 2R. They're both the toughest and scariest zombies in the series.
I think the lickers and the G-Virus are a big trump card, but yea the zombies in REmake are fucking brutal.

and I don't know about toughest, RE3Make ultra hard mode lol.

Well when I reference difficulty, I would talk about a first playthrough on normal. I remember finding the REmake zombies to be tanks, and they still are. It's not even worth it to down one of them. And even if you tangle with them, the shotgun only has a 50% chance of a decap.

Whenever I play it, I only kill the zombies on the east stairway next to the backdoor since it's a high traffic area.

Something feels super off with re2 remake. For the spooky month I've been going through the RE games I never played, I kept up with the series until 6 and stopped after that QTE fest. Having grown up with the og games, and now having gone back to re-play the older games I can confirm I don't really like the modern remakes. REmake is still amazing, but re2make does this weird thing with the zombies were they can insta turn 360 and lock you into a grab animation. It's really frustrating, especially coming from re0 and REmake, but I struggle to juke the zombies like I was able to in those earlier games (yes I was using classic controls). It makes the whole experience of running the gauntlet frustrating because I can't avoid damage like I used to with the tank controls because they just lock on, halo 2 sword lunge at me, and I get stuck in a damage animation. If I could remove or alter that weird lunge they do it would be a fun experience, but at this point I'm mostly just slogging through to get the experience over with.
