Over half of them die in 1. All that's left is the pilot and the 4 survivors of 1. Wesker doesn't count. Chris was also a main character of 5, 6 and REV1. Has a partial role in 7 and 8. And Leon only showed up in one of those (6). Meanwhile REV 1 has Jill and REV 2 has Barry and Claire. So not sure what you're talking about when Leon has had 4 games across the entire series and two of them are shared with other characters.

Do you want to see more of Rebecca? Nobody likes her.
>Wesker Doesn't Count

What's that say on the gun he carries till he dies? seems like it counts to me.

I like how Chris finds and keeps Albert's Samurai Edge, but that motherfucker lost his own long ago, and Jill's only ever shows up as a non-canon DLC for Revelations..they really should have kept all the S.T.A.R.S members with their Samurai Edge's over their entire careers out of honor for what they went through and Kendo and have a sort of through line for the characters, Leon kept his "Samurai Edge" the Silver Ghost years and years after RE4, years more than Chris, Jill or Barry did.

I like her, but yeah she's kinda wimpy. Apparently if duskgolem is correct they were experimenting with giving her an investigation zombie killing game where she could talk to civilians and solve mystery's. They were not satisfied with the results and canned it. I think it would have been a cool change of pace.

Do you want to see more of Rebecca? Nobody likes her. And Barry is too old now. So really Jill is the only one who's gotten a reduced role and maybe there should be another Jill game. This screams of doesn't actually play the games.
Okay you can't say "You want to see more of x" and then disqualify them for no reason. Yes I want more Barry and Rebecca, is that a crime now?

There's a reason, Rebecca sucks. Her voice is annoying, she's a minor character from 1 and her specialty skill is medicine. She has no business being in a swat team when she can barely handle a weapon. She had a game, it sucks. Rebecca hate.

I miss when STARS was a thing in these games, and we followed STARs members that were in RE1. Nowadays it seems like Leon and Leon-adjacents are the only characters allowed to be in stories anymore.
I'm 80% sure that Chris and Leon being the main part of modern RE games is because women characters are old now and we all know how gamers react to being made to play as older women. You can still use older male characters because men like badass geezers and women like dilfs but when it comes to playing as menopausal women (isn't Jill in her 50s in modern era? and others are pushing 50 too) I doubt many normal players would be into that, judging by the overreaction to other games. When you think about it, those new games are all about how marketable they are and how well they'll sell.
Now, what they could do instead is remake old spinoff games or make new prequels to show those characters in their prime. I think that's also why they're remaking CV instead of including Claire in RE9 or RE7&8 where Chris is involved

Well also Claire and Rebecca in lore are in non-combat roles. Rebecca is a doctor and Claire is an activist. Claire got dragged into rev2 by being kidnapped. Again that just leaves Jill who has gone underused. Honestly killing off Ethan was a mistake. Not only because saying he died at the start of 7 was an ass pull when that should mean Mia is also dead but because he was the route to retread the curve of the original cast again.

Jill is biologically 32, her aging was regressed by her conditions as a survivor of like 3 different viruses and being a guinea pig for Wesker, so if Chris ever bones her eventually it'll be like biologically fucking someone who could be his daughter, grim stuff.

It looked like they were setting up Evangeline/Rosmary to be a future protagonist until the extremely poor reception to the Shadow Of Rose DLC for RE8.

To be fair though that's because it was made for tree fiddy with 100% reused assets from RE8 rather than there being anything wrong with the actual character.

There were things wrong with Rose. I'm on board for a lot with RE but we should never play as an infected because it goes against the core theme of the series being humanity's strength. Infected people are unnatural and unstable and pursuing power through these means always backfires.

The other issue I have is that Rose's powers are basically magic and even run on a magic meter, that's lame and I want it out. Lastly she just has no business being in combat scenarios so I really don't want more of her, Ethan probably wouldn't appreciate that either.
Technically Barry starred in two games which was REV 2 and Gaiden. Yea gaiden isn't canon but again, he was the playable character.
I was mostly listing post 4 games because they mentioned how the series is now the "leon series" despite the fact that he's only showed up twice in the last 8 or so games and only one was a Leon dedicated game.

We've played as Sherry, Jake and Piers, all are superhuman, we play as Ethan who is quite literally just Mold that has the memories of Ethan and can glue his shit back on and keep it there with staples.

and Rose is the strongest being in the series so she damn well COULD be in combat scenarios, a weaker, shittier version of her took out a whole cruise liner just because she had a Melty.

Jake's not superhuman, this is a misconception, he's just athletic. In fact he can't be infected with anything because he's immune to all viruses. It's why they want his blood, it has natural antibodies to the current crisis attack.

Sherry is an exception but her infection just gives her plot armor, it had no gameplay effects and doesn't make her stronger in any way it just makes her have wolverine healing.

Piers dies as a result of his infection he still embodies the theme of the series.

Something he should've been cured of after 7. Or rather it was never made clear if those were mold powers or as Jack shows if he chops your foot off, could just be the potency of the health bottles. I guess now with 8 revealing it, it now once again reveals that infection is unstable and Ethan was always doomed to die. Ethan is no different from Piers, Wesker, Krauser or any other idiot who seeks power by sacrificing their humanity.

Rose glorifies powers and vindicates Wesker's goal. This is why I'd rather they just forget about her.

Jake's not superhuman,
uh.. I'm just going to deny this outright, there's no way he should be able to do the things he does without some sort of beyond-baseline human stuff going on, being immune to infections or not, even for this series he's over the top, he's much more physically strong than even Chris, by a country mile.

The only real feat of strength he does is get in a fist fight with Ustanak. Chris punching a boulder 20x his mass is way more impressive. Other than that all he does is some flips. Jake is just good at combat. Leon's been doing double backflips since 4.

Nowhere is it ever said Jake has any genetic enhancements. People just assume that because he's Wesker's son.

I assume he's genetically superior because he's Wesker's Son and Wesker was enhanced from birth to be genetically superior.
Sure he isn't insane, but Jake is clearly a cut above normal human, hence him having the only equippable "fist" weapon in the series beyond the true strongest playable character, Uncle Cajun.
