Ada was intended to be in RE8 but cut so at one point she was considered for the modern RE games canon.

Which itself would've been a reference to re5 when Jill donned a similar look.

More side by side comparisons:

This one is used to reinforce that grace is innocent newbie in this story. Something which is crucial to the good end, nobody who's experienced this world would believe that Spencer has any good in him at all. Even Gideon who knows about Alpis says Spencer made it with malicious intent.

Also if you don't kill the chef as Grace and then Leon sees him he says "what are you cutting with that? Elephants?" a reference to the purchase line for the elephant killer in 4. There's an absurd amount of lines like this for it to be localizers interfering.

every resident evil is better than 0 so yes. The original trilogy is also available on most platforms now.
I'd rather play Zero over 3R, 6, 8 & 9.
It literally came from a parody account, niggas need to learn to actually click on the profile before spreading bullshit.
As gay and retarded the fandom is, I hope the films get 10x worse.

I just tried playing Dead Aim and I got filtered so fucking hard...it's hard being a fan of something I suck at.
Leon would have absolutely been that annoyingly perky community outreach officer who works the front desk.
I used to work for my county's Sheriff's Office and I knew so many Leons lol. They'll get in foot pursuits all day and be the first one to sign up for community outreach stuff, but will call for the LT during a routine traffic stop because they are trying and failing to get an old lady to provide a valid ID and they "feel bad" arguing with her.

I tried the original RE2 recently and I got filtered by tank controls. I know, I know, "fake fan!", "BOOOO" and all that but I have too many skill issues with older games. It's especially weird because I played RE0 and RE1R just fine.

Give it another chance. Maybe start with 1.

English is still the primary language of Resident Evil even if the Jap dub is legally required.
Yeah, looking into it I can see that much like 7, 8 and the Remakes the script started in English (references included) and was then adapted to Japanese. However this wasn’t the case in the pre-RE Engine era.

My skepticism came from cases like Revelations 2, which (like all games before 7) was written in Japanese first and during English localisation several RE1 and Code Veronica references were added that aren’t present in the Japanese script/dub.

The 9 writer (Haris Orkin) clearly also looked at the original RE4 for some callbacks, since a lot of the lines he references were not kept in the 4 remake.

This isn't correct. Resident Evil was exclusively in English until reveleations 1. That was because a Japanese law required all Japanese made media to include a Japanese voice over to be released in Japan. So rev 1, 6 and rev 2 are the only pre-7 games to have japanese voices at all before re-releases added them. So even in Japan RE1 had jill sandwich, the master of unlocking. This was also the case for devil may cry and silent hill(where the voice cast also did mocap) amongst many other games made by Japanese westaboos. That being said the games are still promoted in Japan using English voices in their trailers because the primary script has always been in English and Japanese is included as an extra.

I’m talking about the script, I know that there was no Japanese dub track until Rev1. I might have been misleading but when I said “like all games before 7” I was only referring to the initial script being Japanese, I wasn’t suggesting every pre-7 game had a Japanese dub track.

Also just side note re9 is clearly the memory lane game so it's clear why these lines are the way they are. There's so many nods to past games people don't notice on top of the obvious ones. Like everyone knows the motorcycle chase is both from vendetta and death island, or RPD, or the Wesker clone from 5 and the nemesis boss from re3make.

But you also have more subtle ones like the gas station where you go for gas then erupts in flames and gets attacked by a hoard of zombies. This is shot for shot taken from the original re3. The elevator sequence where zombies drop in to weigh it down is taken from re4(and dmc3).

There's also a shitton of outbreak references aside from Alyssa.

The zoo is referenced on a billboard and these tickets, all the animals here are in outbreak as enemies or in cutscenes. Also under the elephant is the carnivorous plant that you have to kill. The bar before the spider is almost identical to the bar at the start of file 2. The apple inn is referenced with the "applegate hotel". The giant ditch is the one you blow up at the end of file 2's first scenario. The highrise highway that most of the motorcycle sequence takes place on was only seen in outbreak prior. Also a weird one, all the weapons the zombies carry in 9 are the craftable weapons that david king can craft in outbreak. I guess he just left tons of em scattered around.

My point is that there's so many callbacks that it's clear why there's voice lines that also call back to previous entries. The meaning of requiem is rememberance.

It's still weird to me that neither Leon or Sherry recognize Zeno as a Wesker clone.

Yes canonically they've never met him but are you seriously telling me an organization like the D.S.O that exists specifically to fight bioterrorism wouldn't have a file on probably the most infamous bioterrorist in the entire series?

What you want Leon to say "omg this like that guy from that place" It holds more value as a throwaway line by Gideon just saying he's a copy without saying more. I assume he'll be a boss in the dlc, otherwise why include him. Maybe Chris will fight him to continue the theme.

Leon does know of Wesker anyway, he mentions him to Chris when telling him about Jake's lineage in 6.

edit: and in 4

Leon would probably have met wesker, I mean, Wesker and Irons were his fucking bosses.

I miss when STARS was a thing in these games, and we followed STARs members that were in RE1. Nowadays it seems like Leon and Leon-adjacents are the only characters allowed to be in stories anymore.

Leon never worked in Racoon City, he was transferred there and they had a welcome party all ready for him, you can find the "Welcome Leon" shit in the beat cop room complete with party hats I think.
Well he wasn't transferred he just never worked before. He had to commute to work cause he didn't live in town. Presumably he was there not too long ago for interviews. He was already in uniform in the original. The reason he didn't show up for work changes depending on which version you're talking about but either way he shows up for his first day late.
Didn't he say in 4 that he was only a police officer for a day? That is where the confusion stems from.
He says this sarcastically. He's talking about the Racoon city incident.

Over half of them die in 1. All that's left is the pilot and the 4 survivors of 1. Wesker doesn't count. Chris was also a main character of 5, 6 and REV1. Has a partial role in 7 and 8. And Leon only showed up in one of those (6). Meanwhile REV 1 has Jill and REV 2 has Barry and Claire. So not sure what you're talking about when Leon has had 4 games across the entire series and two of them are shared with other characters. Ethan is Chris adjacent.

Do you want to see more of Rebecca? Nobody likes her. And Barry is too old now. So really Jill is the only one who's gotten a reduced role and maybe there should be another Jill game. This screams of doesn't actually play the games.
