I don't trust anybody who loves RE0 inventory system. There are just too many psychos in the world.

Very much so since you had to suffer RE0's major issues that stop people from replaying or finishing it compared to RE1 which avoids the biggest blunders that RE games can do.

Add on the fact with the partner AI and having to inventory manage both characters, it really feels like a co-op game that they scrapped too far into development but had to keep what's there due to deadlines.

Of course there is the cursed and likely possibility they will remake RE1 again which is 50/50 between 0 Remake.

Its weird because I legit dont think Capcom would even want to touch that entry ever again. RE 5 is already an "iffy" entry to remake for various reasons, the most "innocent" of which is that it simply doesnt need it as it has a good number of ports and the game still looks and plays pretty damn well.

And RE6? Its ironically one of the most plot irrelevant entries in the series, especially since it is a main entry as practically no major elements of it seem to have stuck around. It nearly never gets referenced, none of the characters original from it ever get mentioned, much less appear. It is an entry that, for all intends and purposes, is only semi canon. And oh yeah, its often considered the worst in the series, or at least the blandest entry that really struggled with its own identity (ironically a problem the series seems to be suffering with again but thats besides the point)

So really, Capcom's remake trend seems to be nearly at the end of its rope as they nearly remade everything major that fans care enough to play. Except, of course, a RE1 remake which, by God I hope they dont do it because it is the most normie fake fan shit I have ever seen get suggested.


If there is an entry that should never leave the classic gameplay style, is RE1, as that was the game that started that style and seeing it get so normified into RE engine slop, is just absolutely murderous to whatever integrity the series still has left.

Out of all the Resident Evils to turn into a live-action movie, 5 would be perfect. You've got a magnificently evil villain, a badass white dude in the lead, and no shortage of hilarious lines, intentional or not.

its referenced in death island when Chris talks about Piers. It's referenced in 9 when Leon says "just resting my eyes" a direct quote of Ada in 6. Leon's now working for DSO, which was Helena's job in 6. And there is technically a character carried over from 6, Sherry, her design and current role are from 6. Also Chris' entire characterization in 8 is from his arc in 6. Not in 7 though since 7 was trying to be a soft reboot which is why Chris looks more like he does in re1's live action scenes.

Also if Ada is returning I suspect we'll see more nods to it. The reality is that there's only been 2 entries since 6, 8 and 9. 7 deliberately avoided tying itself to the rest of the series and we've been in remake hell for a while.

When does Leon say that line? I’d be curious to compare the Japanese lines, since there’s a few past cases of localisers inserting references where they didn’t exist in the Japanese script.

Helena wasn’t DSO, she was US Secret Service. Leon has been working for the DSO since its introduction (which was still in RE6).

English is still the primary language of Resident Evil even if the Jap dub is legally required. There's A LOT of lines that are direct quotes of previous games in 9.
Thankfully someone else noticed so I didn't have to scan a longplay for it.
