If you're running in a straight line and suddenly change direction, he has these few frames of inertia that you can't do anything about it.
This is one of the ways the original still feels more fun to play. There's too much not in your control in the remake. The original was built around the player. Now the player is built around the game.

I would look up one of the newer playthroughs of S+ that uses skips for your next attempt. You really need to go through it barebones and not chase down every treasure.

I'm probably going to use this one once I do a run with all treasures and sidequests so that the maps are more fresh in my mind, he seems to skip almost everything.

I have to make a save at those points when you have to do the scope glitch, I'm worried about getting there and then spending 15 mins trying to get it and screwing the whole run.

Yeah I need to figure out where to save in chapter 14 right before the wrecking ball area since you can clip through that gate and skip A LOT of bullshit and go right to Krauser. I saw a video earlier of that particular door getting glitched and working on PS4. I had thought it was a framerate thing to get it to work but I guess my technique was off.

You can skip the wharf section when JJ comes out and make him try to kick you through the laser on the steps, he takes the hits, and you run by.

You probably know this by now but if you can't glitch through the door, you can throw 2 heavy grenades at the wall and then 1 hit from the wrecking ball will take it down.

Yeah I did that in my 2nd normal playthrough. As long as I can place a save near that spot, I'll just keep reloading it until I get it since that section is cancer.

We need a skip through the Mike section.

So the general consensus here is that the R4make is actually worth a damn. I might get it then when it's on sale.

In the meantime, I'll just follow this thread and avoid discussion about the game everywhere else because fucking furries have ruined everything thanks to Mouse Ashley.

I am also both curious and concerned about a R5make. I hope Sheva remains intact.

Capcom is between a rock and a hard place with RE5 or CV remake, if they do 5 they'll piss off the niggers and CV the trannies.

I just tried the zone after the part where they take your weapons, the one that you have to get the bird plaque and crank the wheel to open the door. Some ganado exploded a stick of dinamite far enough that it didn't hurt me, but close enough that Leon was affected by the shockwave and stumbled into the hands of the most annoying enemy in the game, a ganado without a weapon, he grabbed me and another one killed me with an axe. I can't even express how infuriating it is that sometimes it feels like you're trying to control a marionette with your left hand rather than a quick responsive character that Leon was in the original.

god damn i got re4make on the xbox and i had enemies just walk trough closed doors, wet textures not spawning(so the ground is full of holes) and the game crash on me twice.
I’ve heard the game runs pretty badly on Xbox and ps4 (the latter isn’t very surprising), but runs good on PC and PS5. I’m surprised it doesn’t run well on Xbox.

I had maybe two crashes on PS4 but otherwise no issues other than enemies moving at a half frame rate at a long distance like 3make.

I hate the RE Engine.

Twitter art trends are the fucking worst.

RE5 is something I can't possibly see them getting away with. White guy shooting niggers in Africa was controversial back in the day, I can only imagine the dust up we will get now if the game doesn't get massive changes like altering the enemy count or entire continent on which it takes place. People said Code Veronica was too spicy due to Tranny villain but you could alter that a lot easier than you could the entirety of RE5's base premise.

Modern Capcuck will fuck Sheva over for sure.

Was waiting to get a PS5 first so i can get this, but damn, this thread is making me want to bite the PS4 bullet
Just do it. The digital spills into both versions of PS.

I'm going to get a PS5 whenever there's a new price drop or a discount somewhere since the few games I do play on it would run so much better on that and my fan won't sound like a jet turbine.

5 will probably be retconned given 4remakes ending

In the original Ada steals the master plaga and delivers it to Weaker who combines it with the G virus to create Ouroboros.

In the remake Ada orders the helicopter pilot to change course after hearing Wesker state he plans to genocide Billions of people.

So yea 5 will probably be radically different. There's also s few notes in the game talking about a "black ooze" with mutagenic properties which indicates 7-8 are the preferred canon and will be integrated into future games in some way.

Tl'dr 5 and 6 will probably be radically changed in both plot and setting 6 in particular is a fucking mess that makes no sense.

After reviewing a bit of this thread, it seems that the people who weren't sure about the RE4 remake were won over by the gameplay, so much so that their issues with characters, tone, and such were made a non-issue.

I would like to get this game, but the intrusiveness of the remaining issues with the characters/characterization and retconning make this very unlikely. The propensity of developers to create a more cinematic experience by blending dialogue with action/gameplay makes it difficult to ignore awkward writing that can take me out of the moment. Then there's the character design which has been discussed at length already. I'll spare you my criticisms on that.

It sounds like lot of the changes might work better for a sequel than a remake, especially if they start messing with characters and plot. For example, if there's truth to the regenerator's being recycled assets from the mold people is true, then they could make them appear in RE9 as a hybrid of 2 existing monsters rather than resort to retconning. Maybe make use of those new characters they've been teasing (like Jake Muller who they seemed so proud of in RE6's ending).

Making Leon this affected by Raccoon City PTSD makes him a very different character than in the original. A lot of Leon's charm in RE4 came from his competency and keeping a cool head no matter what he was faced with. The Leon from RE4 brings a lot of his past experience to the game that gives him determination and ability to complete his task. RE4 remake Leon seems to bring more emotional baggage along with his experience and seems more antagonistic by default. In short, RE4 Leon is a hero while RE4 remake Leon is a survivor. Both can work, but my personal preference is the one with less baggage for getting the job done.

I could just find mods that fix some of these things, but I would rather play the original and save myself the hassle/money over trying to redeem a product that just isn't for me. Glad to hear that some people are able to enjoy the gameplay though. I just hope that the developers don't continue on with their trend of storytelling/characterization in their games. If they don't show some respect their IP, I won't either.

guys, what the fuck is this?
