Honestly, I recall RE 4 on Switch running fine but 5 and 6 running like shit. I could understand maybe no 60 frames (tho I dare say it was possible) but they couldnt even have a comfortable 30!? Even the PS3 and Xbox 360 kept it at 30 frames. I dont know, it was a deal breaker for me, since I know the Switch can run PS3 era games comfortably so this was just a shitty job from Capcom.
Its because they are cloud versions of those games rather than running off the cartridge. They were destined to run like trash because Capcom didn't feel like compressing anything for the cartridges, assuming they even had to.

No? RE5 and 6 are full ports on the Switch. It's 7, Village, and 2 & 3 Remakes that are the Cloud versions of the games.

Not bad for not playing this for a few years. This is the Sourcenext Japanese PC version with patches and mods to make it English and cleaned up backgrounds. So unlike the US version, instead of A rank being the top it's S.

I believe the guy that began the project abandoned it. Also, apparently the steam version of RE1 remake has broken audio and pixelated assets.
That's good to know. How bad is it? Bad enough that emulating the NGC version is better?

The remaster is still worth playing, even the vanilla version. There's really only 2-3 music tracks that are bugged. Off the top of my head, it's the Guardhouse and the medicine room cutscene with Chris. Rebecca and Richard. Some of the backgrounds are very rough in some places. Although there's some upscaled mods you can download for that. Primarily it's the Aquaring bottom area that looks like total shit. I think at the time, I read that Capcom didn't have the master files anymore and I think they did it by hand from the GC disc.

Another thing I don't see talked about the remaster is the fucked up eye animations. Like in REmake, they slightly altered all the faces and eyes, but Jill's eyelids are the worst. Like they have no roundness to them when her eyeballs move in certain ways. When they're still, she looks like Jill, but when they do she looks fugly. Her regular in game model looks fine though since she's only programmed to blink.

These are the same cutscenes I took shots from of the GC version next to the REmaster. The top left is a really good example of it. The shared trait in all the cutscenes is her left eyelid always goes lazy.

With all the patches fans have done for this game, there's nothing addressing the fucked up animations they did. It's even present in REmastered Zero. Billy has some really bad chinky eyes for some reason.

I'll need to do this one again since I didn't unlock the minigun. I forgot that you need to not save at all and get B or above. I don't use the special weapons ever, but I like having everything unlocked.

I hear a lot of nothing about RE:verse. It's kind of fascinating, people can't even muster up the energy to shit on it.

I mean, other spinoffs usually have some kind of neat concept to them regardless of how the game is actually handled.

Who actually wanted to play a battle royale Resident Evil though?
Oh I agree. I think Operation Raccoon City was cool in spirit, except it was absolutely awful to play.

The Outbreak games as far as I know are canon, I love them dearly. I still play on the fan servers once in awhile. It still has a loyal community of maybe 100+ people. It may take a little but you'll always find players to play with.

I don't remember any major framedrops in RE5 Switch but I haven't really tried out the Mercenaries mode, just the mainline story and the two spin-offs (Desperate Escape and Lost in Nightmare) in singleplayer. Port seemed solid enough from my point of view. However, Resident Evil 6 had noticeable framerate issues often popping up during my walkthough in Leon's campaign so I can understand you on that one.

It's possible to play co-op with separate joycons but I can imagine the limited button layout to be a recipe for disaster (even with gyro activated), despite the idea itself sounds nice on the paper. I should try that one with a pal one day just to give detailed thoughts.

Anything that isn't the main line series, seems always doomed to fail.
After Umbrella Corps I can see why capcom would try multiplayer again. Maybe they just got unlucky they thought. After resistance maybe they thought it was just a coincidence. But after RE:Verse? No, no way they’re gonna try it again. And if they do, they’re the very definition of this quote:

And yeah, I know this may or may not have actually been said by Einstein, but it applies here.

They killed the dog for the remake. Fuck these guys.
You guys really think the people who made 'Cabin in the woods' and 'Van Helsing' with a poorly stapled on 'RE, we swear' remembers that the RE series is supposed to be cheesy fun?

I said it from the first trailer, these fucking morons are going to suck out all of the things that made 4 enjoyable to pander to the miserable faggots that got scared by the low poly zombies as a kid, and think RE is supposed to be gritty and serious.

It could have been an Outbreak remake with old and new stuff but noooo, had to try to be different.

An Outbreak remake is basically what they did with Resistance, which in itself was shit tier.

They could go the route of REmaster and just upscale everything. That would become the biggest multiplayer RE ever made in this climate. They put REmaster out for market data on doing more remakes and it sold very well.
