If I am not mistaken Chris should be 64 years old and still alive during the events of Shadows of Rose.
So I can't imagine Capcom milking the Boulder punching Redfield anymore unless it is for an opus between Revelations 1 and Resident Evil 7 but that might not sit well with the fanbase so I'd be more inclined to think they'll continue the saga just after the events of Village with the risk of rendering the Rose DLC void if they ever forget about it in the future.

Never underestimate capcom. If they have to they put chris in a wheelchair being pushed around by jill, just to milk chris, they will.

I for one look forward to Resident Evil 11 featuring the following hits such as:
  • Jill making Chris a sandwich and going "It's a Jill sandwich" while talking about how he needs to come out retirement.
  • Chris punching a boulder and going "Yup. Still got it."
  • A little girl who turns out to be Rose's daughter or some shit using mold powers and Chris going "You're just like your mother"
  • A final showdown between Chris Geriatric Redfield and Robot Wesker.
  • Some cheesy song by Johnny Cash followed by teaser trailer for Resident Evil 12 featuring Old Man Leon.

Remember when Leon and Krauser went to Guatemala to kill some locals and save some girl from "not-Pablo Escobar"? Also, it seemed like they were drunk or something because they can't stop shaking around. Can't wait to see that in the remake.

I would like to see more of absolutely nothing about Hunk's professional life except that he is the consummate professional. I like the idea that he is just better at doing his job than the good guys that are on a crusade.

Being invested in RE's lore is a fools errand, and I'm out here getting milk. Shadows of Rose raised far more questions than it answered and it's frustrating. The mold is pretty much Metal Gear nanomachines now. I feel like the recent games haven't really explored how tragic Eveline's existence is. Engineered to be a manipulative killing machine, but she's 100% genuine when she says all she wanted was a family. I was really hoping during their scene together, that Rose would show some empathy and try to comfort Eveline. Act as a sort of genuine big sister, but one that can't be controlled by her powers. Even by the end of the DLC Eveline is still alive consciously in the mold.

Yeah, Eveline is a sad character. I was kinda hoping for that too. Rose seemed like she was going to be sympathetic before Eveline lashed out at her again after the fight. It would've been cool to see her confront Miranda about why she didn't love her and considered her a failure.

This is something I brought up a while ago. The RE main characters are realistically getting too old for this shit. Even if Chris takes good care of his health, his age should be creeping up on him by now.

RE is a pretty grounded series in terms of timeline so there is no way they can hide the fact that these characters are getting too old to believe they can still be as strong and agile as they were entries ago. Hell, none of them seem to have any kids either. I can get maybe Chris deciding that a family life is not for him, but I find it difficult that Claire wouldnt have kids of her own (memes aside, even if they indirectly adknowledge the characters are getting too old).

Seems like everytime they try to add new younger blood into the series, they get cold feet and return to the old familiar characters, just look at RE8 and 6.

Its an issue that Capcom can only ignore for so long. Either they will have to pull out some cheap writing device to age down some characters through viruses or something or just reboot the series altogether if they really want to keep these characters.

Hunk was always like a Boba Fett (before expanded universe) to me. He's a masked badass and you want to know more. Hunk fans, we're like the helicopter pilot in the end of his run in RE2 Remake.

"Why didn't you leave?" - "I wanted to meet the Grim Reaper."

That being said, he works because he doesn't have a face, dream, or whatever.

I'm surprised they haven't done this with Jill already. Wesker had her for an indeterminate amount of time; and no doubt experimented on her while he had her body. There's also Sherry who they outright gave super healing in her Jake's RE6 campaign. Super healing easily turns into delayed aging (and God knows what else).

Maybe they can still throw that with Jill since she hasnt had a major appearance after RE5, she is referenced but she hasnt had a presence post RE5. So her next appearance could comment she still looks great for age because of something Wesker has done or the T-Virus in her (since RE5 reveals that the virus still is in her, just put in a dormant state) that kept her from aging the same rate a human does.

Then again, if she is played by the same fuckwit from the REmake 3, I maybe dont want to see Jill ever again.

Bring the REAL Jill if you will bother, you know the one.

Does anyone feel like people putting REmake 2 on the same pedestal that REmake 1 is...really wrong?
I dont know, I just cant help but feel like the original sequel still stand over the remake, unlike the first game's. Resident Evil 1 was highly improved upon to the point it is possible to just see it as the "canon" version but I cant see that with 2 and especially 3.
I wonder why...

They will literally never stop relying on the old cast. Don't underestimate them.
but I don't mind the appearance of NuJill.
I felt like nuJill was fine in terms of appearance. She's the only RE engine female made so far that doesn't have weird autism face.

It is an excellent remake but yeah, it certainly flounders where REmake succeeds. RE1 is everything the first game was and more. RE2 is most of he original game, plus some different stuff, minus some other stuff that shouldn't have been cut. I.E. the zapping system.

REmake is still the best bar none.

For me, RE1 Remake lacks some things that I think RE2 Remake & R3MAKE have (gameplay wise). While RE1 Remake has things which I appreciate more & is lacking in the later remakes, like keeping the soul of the game it's remaking (I'm not mainly talking about gameplay here, but it genuinely felt like the PS1 game given an upgrade instead of a somewhat acceptable downgrade like RE2 Remake did, or a shiny polish of a PS2 game actually not just a downgrade, but pretty much a different game like R3MAKE did.
