I assume this remake is going to be way way shortwr than the original game, 4 was not only packed with content, but the main campaign is actually pretty long, being around 20 hours for a first time player.
RE2make was like 12-14 hours after playing with each character, and that game had a longer dev time, so no way RE4make is going to be much longer

Also, why is Leon so skinny now? Jacket looks way too big for him. OG Leon might've had the face of a Calvin Klein model but the fucker was ripped as hell

Considering Leon blocks a chainsaw with a knife, I think they're keeping some of the silliness. Or they're trying too hard to be serious and it'll wrap around to being silly/stupid.

Yeah, it's kind of weird they kept the whole "rookie" look for the remake when the original made him out to be an experience secret service agent or whatever.

I want to hope that with all the big titty model replacer mods that came out for REmake 2 and 3 we could get someone that could give Leon some big titties to fill out that shirt a bit but I'm sure it will all be focused on Ashley and Ada instead.
 
Personally optimistic about the RE4 Remake and honestly hope it's more different than it is the same. With the HD texture pack mod that's better than anything Capcom could produce, and the game being ported to everything that could possibly run it, there's really no reason to make an uber faithful recreation of the original. I feel like people are going to whine and bitch regardless, because every little change no matter how well executed is going to feel 'wrong' to certain people who consider remakes a failure from the word go.

I'm probably biased though. I've always wanted an RE4 that was a bit more horror oriented, not necessarily more serious, but my favorite moments in RE4 are when the game cuts loose with creepy atmosphere and lets things breath a bit. The village at night, the prison area with the writhing bag, shit like that sticks out in my mind more than the exploding trucks or the helicopter minigun helping you on the island. So if there's more of that in favor of less action I can tolerate it. I just don't want a dozen obnoxious 'stalker' characters in the game like leaks and the trailer suggests. Mr. X is cool for a little while but not being able to put him down with some level of permanence fucking sucked but everyone else loved it so I'm sure we'll see that like seven times.

RE4make is the one they've actually wanted to do since Capcom was on its remake kick and they know that it's also the one people will notice this shit with more. After people ripped RE3 a new asshole for liberally cutting iconic locations and several hours worth of content I don't think they'll make the same mistake, and even then, if they can keep the cutting restricted to the back half at the island I will probably tolerate it.

RE8 was full of silly campy shit too so I don't know why people are so concerned that it will lose the B Movie factor. If blocking chainsaws with knives and ''bill me later'' aren't enough indication that it'll still be plenty stupid then what do people want? Leon to walk out in a clown outfit, round-house kicking ganados after throwing pies in their faces?

The puffy jacket is really weird, it looks like shit on him. He looked better in the black shirt in some of the later shots, but he looks remarkably silly in the iconic coat. I kind of like that they kept the Remake 2 actor for continuity's sake, but at the same time they should have tweaked the model a bit to make him look more confident and cool.
 
I'm happy the one-liners are still there but for them to work they need a VA doesn't sound like he's ready to jump off a cliff.
 
im surprised they added in QTE during combat and being able to use the knife you counter attacks. seems Ashely is gonna play a more role in the story, having entire sections for herself and if the romurs are true
they going to make loiuse the main bad guy (or atleast the final boss) and kruser will no longer be in the game.

sux there is no mercenary.
