It's the other way around. The RE 4 Ashley was sexed up. The Remake Ashley looks very similar to her first design.

Also I hope they can make RE4's story like Mikami actually wanted to but couldn't because of time & budget problems.

There are lots of things that can be written out like the giant statue, the lava room, most parts of the Island, the bug caves are too long etc (the bugs should stay of course).

Then there are things that need to get improved like the labyrinth. It was fucking lame. Either make it better or replace it. Ashley needs to be less annoying & helpless, Louis needs more screen time. That scene where he forgot the cure was so dumb. :roll: Also better translations. The "Your right hand comes off" wasn't in the japanese version at all. The translator tried to be funny & made an unfunny, r.etarded "joke" instead.

And then of course there are SO many things that need to stay. I don't need to make a list because everyone already knows. Don't you dare to get rid of Dr. Salvadore & the Bella sisters, Capcom!

That shit was hilarious and if I don't hear it in the remake I'll be pissed. They should keep the typo too.

That scene where Luis forgets the cure really stood out to me as particularly egregious last time I played it, it was so obviously the devs being lazy and not wanting to program his AI to follow you around instead of staying in the house during that sequence.

Luis is a great character but he's barely fucking in the game, they kill him off way too soon, he should have survived to the island and there should have been a second sequence where he fights alongside Leon.

The lava room is the one ridiculous element I hope they actually keep, but the giant statue is really dumb and needs to go.

What story are you talking about that Mikami wanted but couldn't have because of time and budget problems? The Spencer castle story?

I don't want to sound like a broken record but I still don't get why they dropped the Spencer castle setting entirely, you could still have parasite infested enemies be the threat, just make it the weapon the H.C.F releases instead of the black fog or have it be an Umbrella offshoot of the Nemesis parasites, you can still have the village and villagers, just make them Straw Dogs style Limeys instead of Spaniards.

That's what they could have done with RE4 remake if they wanted to reuse 3.5's story but not stray too far from RE4's gameplay, but instead it's the Los Illuminados again.

You are completely wrong. Any attempt to improve the cheesy script by removing the wacky parts would be a deep disservice to fans. RE4 is a timeless masterpiece where you can be fighting a chainsaw murderer one moment and then trading quips with a squeaky voiced midget Napoleon the next. If they want to make a new game then they should make a new game, not attempt to double dip by making a new game out of an old one that people loved.

Yes and no. They dropped the ball pretty bad with one of their flagship series, and RE3make, while not a disaster, has made people far more cynical towards Resident Evil remakes.
