And why do I imagine that those types of people would even stoop low as to do those things IRL, either by crashing the funeral (although I'm not sure if those are a thing right now), or even defacing the grave itself, by either writing graffiti on it, smashing it, or even taking a shit on the grave. But then again, those people wouldn't do it in real-life, because it's easier to do it online, just because.

Did they ever roll back their "it's not racism if it's done to white people" that they put in their official Ts&Cs? I'd swear it remained in and the backlash just died down because on Reddit that's always assumed anyway.

People like to present conversion to Christianity as something that was forced on people, but (with a few exceptions, like the massacre at Verden) pagans weren't forced to become Christian or punished for following paganism. I wouldn't say it is an evil force, but even the first christian roman emperor, constantine, spread christianity with the sword.

And though the deal offered by christianity was probably better than what other religions would offer, there was a very sincere attempt to remove paganism and pagan rituals. Changing jesus birthday to december in an attempt to supplant winter's solstice is an important one. One where the old relics have remained of creating a huge bonfire (now symbolised with electric fire in a single tree).

You're probably thinking of the 1960s sexual revolution. Many free-love hippies and feminists at the time supported contraception, the right to choose, and such. Not all, and not all women, but many. There was a lot of pushback against the stricter culture of the 40s and 50s.

I'm pretty sure that if it was put to a vote it wouldn't have passed unil the late 80s, early 90s. Need to look up that research again. Remember, it was changed by supreme court, not a new law.

Constantine the Great was a Christian, but he tolerated paganism. The Edict of Milan made religious toleration the official policy of the Empire and the only anti-pagan things he did were destroying a temple that had been built on Golgotha (one of the holiest sites in Christianity), and making fortune telling illegal (which pagan emperors had previously done).

St Evodius said that "she [Mary] gave birth to the Light of this World, the twenty-fifth day of the month of December, being fifteen years of age". He knew Jesus personally and was made a bishop by St Peter. Why would he change that date to please pagans when Christianity had resisted all attempts to paganise it?

Tryggvarsson tortured and killed people to make his kingdom turn catholic.

Give me a fucking break. I will never understand why modern creators choose to add Black, Asian, etc. people into media based on European mythology or history for the sake of "diversity" instead of actually creating something new based on African, Indigenous, Asian, etc. mythology or history (which in turn creates more representation for other ethnic groups), especially considering how interesting it is.

Maybe gatekeeping cultures is a good thing sometimes.

I honestly think you should try to get her away from tiktok. If she’s so involved in the DID and disability community that she thinks she has multiple disorders, it’s likely that’s what most of her recommended videos are like, which just reinforces her “self-diagnoses.” Tiktok in general can be pretty toxic and rampant with misinformation too

Absolutely this. As someone who used to use Tiktok quite a lot, the algorithm picks up on everything and often times takes it too far. I even suspect(ed) myself that i might have adhd and tiktok just made me more and more unsure because even liking even things that are even remotely related will make you end up with more and more of the same content.

I have seen the phenomenon of teenagers like OPs daughter be heavily influenced by what they are constantly shown in their FYP’s (tiktok’s selected videos for the user) at times making themselves believe they have, adhd, autism, or that they are part of the lgbtq+ community (not saying all of them are not or that Op’s daughter isn’t either) but its just an echo chamber that it’s dangerous for teenagers who are looking for a sense of identity and might be easily influenced.
