AdviceAnimals at it again with one of the dumbest imaginable suggestions. Strangely almost every comment left is either explaining away their stupidity or outright dunking on them, but the updoots and awards (13 and counting) keep pouring in. Went from 9k to 13k just in the time it took me to save screenshots. I guess proving the upvote bots aren't being directed correctly, because this is embarrassing for people to see as the most upvoted post of the day.

On this episode of crazy things anti formula people have said this is beyond the craziest. She has no idea what the term “wet nurses” were for in America.

I admit that paying another woman to breastfeed is gross and weird, but formulas made with powdered cow's milk and vegetable oils don't seem all that better.

Some other posts on the front page are also joining in. They like to refer to people who are against formula as the 'breast is best army'.

My favorite is “breast fed babies are happier! They get to know you right away and FEEL SAFE IN YOUR ARMS”???? I formula fed my first baby, and I’m pregnant again, I want to give breast feeding another go but this shit just makes me sick… this is in the first few pages of a book (literally page 2 you can see it) that was given to me at the hospital I had my first.
I already don’t want to read this. Does anyone here have recs for a decent book about breast feeding that doesn’t shame the hell out of formula? Cause I’ll happily formula feed another baby, money is just realllly tight this go around. I’m so over the shame around formula/not breast feeding.

Obviously doing drugs while breastfeeding is complete lunacy, but once again it's a little disingenuous to shill for formula when the fix is as easy as not being a pothead. Or not letting potheads be parents. Whichever is more likely to happen.

You've got women who formula feed their newborn for legitimate medical reasons and women who formula feed despite being healthy for asinine reasons like thinking it's better. Most of the subreddit is people asking for advice, but every once in a while they get bitter about being told their choice of baby food is inferior.
They're milk incels. I'm sorry that you can't/won't breastfeed your child, but a lab-made concoction will never be better than millions of years of mammalian evolution.

I've always used archive.md and it's worked for me. Here is a random example. It won't capture the videos but I just use yt-dlp for that.

Edit : I just realized that I've only used it for individual posts. I haven't tried archiving the front page of a sub and was about to but it's having trouble at the moment so I can't test it
