My local sub has had guys every election posting about how they're going to rent a big van and go help take people to the polls!

They don't say who or where they're finding people but in their imagination it's probably singy dancy black churches on tuesdays full of old ladies (big hats) who've never seen a car before and if they get a ride from a noble white saviour they're gonna vote a straight-reddit ticket. There's been zero of that this year, those coloreds been getting unpredictable and uppity lately I'm hearing.

Also separately, totally muting your phone while you have a kid who works until 1am is absolutely fucked. I know real boomers are too old to have an 18 year old but this is peak boomer. Welp you're 18 now, on your own, your granddad was dodging Nazi bullets at your age.

It's monthly active users not users. So just an old account logging in again is an additional monthly active user. I've used 6-8 different reddit accounts this year so, yeah it was never an accurate accounting of users especially in an election year where all the main subs are just botted with Drumpf bad posts.
The revenue increase is probably mostly the money from that Google exclusivity deal this year. Reddit users are notoriously the most worthless social media users in terms of revenue.

Speaking of Drumpf bad. /r/SuicideWatch is a good watch for sane and rational science trusters who are totally going to kill themselves if orange man (he's bad) is elected again or other more material trans-related reasons.

if trump wins, he wants to ban hrt/lgbtq healthcare. i would rather die than go off hrt. not to mention beliefs that align with his are basically everything i don't stand for.
i can't really explain what hrt does for me. i can try to explain in comments if needed. ig just know it's a medication that's as important as any other prescription medication. going off it is a death sentence and no, i can't "get over it". i've tried. cis people can't really understand as much as i try to explain so just take my word for it.
the argument "so many people love you" doesn't help. it doesn't make me feel better, it just guilts me and makes me feel bad. it doesn't make me want to live, it just makes me not want to upset other people which is already a problem i have otherwise.
everything i think of circles around to not wanting to hurt other people. not making me happy.
my future ambitions don't matter as much to me. what's the point in pursuing them if i'm not happy nor can i be truly happy?
p.s. if you have anything anti-trans to say, even if you truly think you're doing the right thing and that you're helping, i don't want to hear it. don't give me another reason to kms. i'll answer any questions asked in earnest about this topic if needed.

I have a tentative expiration date. I set it last week, although it was sort of set for me. When my mind made it hard for me to keep normal, stable, full time jobs, my parents generously help financially and they said they would always help. I knew they didn’t actually mean always, but they kept saying always. They still say always, even though I’ve been given until the end of the year to figure out my situation. Moving in with them is not an option. They still say “always” as if it will calm me down, but at this point it feels like an obligatory lie because they can’t tell me the truth - that I am too great a burden. I am an adult and I am “lucky” enough to have made it this long. It has been a privilege to have had the assistance. I know this. I just haven’t been able to make it work. Essentially, I have 85 days days to have my basics figured out, or I die.
It’s a countdown to the New Year, and I may be departing with 2024.
I see a therapist most weeks for DBT. I feel like I need to tell her that I’ve set this date. I understand that would be a weight on her and I understand it could get me hospitalized. I’ve also already taken into account that my plan has not been finalized or completely fleshed out. I have not figured out the method that will be the most peaceful for me and the least traumatic or messy for anyone else. One previous attempt at this 10 years ago failed. I don’t have access to a closed garage, so that rules out method #2. There are very key parts of this plan that obviously have not been figured it out or set in stone which is why I feel like it is ok to tell my therapist about it. The only things I have are the date and the result.
As Trump would say “I have concepts of a plan” and I hope to god when I depart this world that he will not have been elected. I promised I would stick around long enough to vote. I want to leave the world better than I found it, if I can. The final part of that is removing myself from the world.
I’ve been cycling through some insane rapid mood swings for a couple weeks now. They’re quick. Hours. And I can mostly keep it together asides from when the tears come I can’t stop those.
So how do I tell my therapist I’ve set a date?

On the other hand, OP knew that they switch their phones off at night. Even if they were contactable, it wouldn't have actually prevented the accident. It just meant they came to comfort them in the hospital a few hours later than they otherwise would have. They even apologized about it later.

Regardless of whether that was a stupid rule for them to have, refusing to forgive them over it and cutting them out of your life over it completely is an absurd overreaction. But Reddit seems to love the idea of going "no contact" with your family if something bad happens just once, seemingly because even the mildest inconvenience or discomfort is on par with being shot in the stomach to them.

But if you even think of posting an Anti-Biden or Anti-Kamala picture, it's deleted immediately.

Those old church ladies who showed up to vote for Obama in California also pushed the anti-gay marriage proposition over the finishing line. They should be careful what they hope for.
