Anytime there's niggerwashing drama, I'm reminded of Nessa from Sword and Shield. She's dark skinned, so everyone assumed she's "black" and accused anyone who claimed Nessa was "brown" is an "anti-black" racist. People did a similar thing to the Baldur's Gate drama by making Nessa lighter skinned, with some examples on Know Your Meme. Ironically, the Pokemon company never confirmed Nessa is "black". In fact, Africa and most real world cultures have no explicit existence in Pokemon. So Nessa isn't "black", just a Glarian with dark skin. Similarly, the tall and blonde Cynthia isn't "Ainu" despite Sinnoh's Hokkaido inspirations.

A lot of Redditors assume a character is "black" simply because they're dark skinned. Including desperate niggers who want "representation" and can't fathom the world not revolving around them. Like when Brendan of Pokemon and Pajeet Velma had their designs revealed. I personally think looking at a dark skinned character and assuming they're "black" or "black-coded" seems racist/narrow-minded... but what do I know?

Sperging here, but most of the recent regions have been based on different irl countries/regions. There's been New York City (region had the geographical layout), France, Hawaii, the UK, and the Iberian peninsula. Still no Africa.

Since one region was explicitly based on the Hawaiian Islands, there were quite a few dark-skinned characters. Somehow, Twitter thought they were black when it was incredibly fuckin obvious that they were supposed to be native Hawaiians. Twitter users are retarded.
