This is concrete proof that modern "valuation" concepts are complete and utter bullshit and any investor who falls for this IPO is a fucking idiot. Redditors are the least valuable users of any social media network. That valuation is insanity.

the valuation is not strictly for financial purposes. if your goal is only making money then yeah reddit sucks.
but if your goal is using it as a tool for propaganda purposes then it is very valuable.

That's not even scratching the surface of active subreddits with problematic content.

Off the top of my head, the amount of incest related subreddits need nuked from the site ASAP given the community gently pushing people more and more into predatory grooming, simply because they were big enough schizos to see signs in your children that aren't there.

For a VERY long time there was unfiltered beastiality, cutefemalecorpses etc. I'm sure if you look deep enough you'll find some ban evasion subs for the content I'm even talking about. There might even be straight up pedophilia/child abuse on reddit servers from some random subreddit with numbers.

It's fairly obvious at this point that /r/coronavirus is moderated by glowies, and I'm not a conspiracy theorist or an anti-vaxxer or anything. The three-letter agencies will never give up Reddit.

hard to say re: pedophilia because reddit does run the algorithms to automatically detect and remove known CP. so unless some hardcore child abuse distributors/creators have decided to use reddit over an onion site or other more secure means I'd seriously doubt that content is there. now reddit 'MAP' communities on the other hand.. probably a dime a dozen.

They actually picked a child molester's troon son (who hired his rapist father to work for him) as an admin, and then banned anyone who objected to this choice until it was too big to ignore. His name is Ashton Lucas David Challenor although he now calls himself Aimee. Most of the usual suspects were in on it.

The other guy is violentacrez, the creepy dude who ran /r/jailbait and /r/creepshots, a subreddit for clandestinely taking lewd pictures of women against their will in public.

I remember this, I just didn't parse it as it put down. When laid bare like that, it really does speak volumes to just how fucked Reddit is.
 
I just ran across some turbocoomer who makes terrible doujinshi (is that what it's called? I don't really speak weeb) about neckbeards in hilariously broken english and posts them all over the place. It's both really funny and horrifying.
