File that with "Only assholes recline their seat" and "don't watch anything triggering in case someone behind you might feel uncomfortable" as Reddit plane etiquette advice I make great effort to ignore.Also, apparently eating peanuts on planes is illegal now
The going theory is modern living is too clean so you're not being exposed to enough dirt as a child and it's creating allergies. Homes aren't supposed to be soaked in bleach and shampooed twice a week and keeping things too sanitary stops a healthy immune system developing.
It's disconcerting how many "children are fucking stupid" posts on Reddit are related to a kid playing in the mud or dirt, catching bugs, splashing in puddles, etc. as though it's a bad thing for children to get dirty and a strenuous effort out of a parent to clean off the kid. I wondered why so many kids in my neighborhood were alleged to be immunocompromised during COVID but damn, maybe feral outdoor kids DID have something going for them.
