I saw the movie before watching the HitB. It's incredibly retarded but also really entertaining.

I think the goofy retardation was fully intentional. Even before the movie goes off the rails at the end you have the sassy black detective who's reaction to everything is 'WTF'.

Almost 10 years later and Mike still calls stuff "Bughuul", not even the people that made Sinister remember that name
"You have a Baghuul problem, go yell at your wife," is a Mike quote that's been seared into my brain ever since Vincent D'Onofrio told Ethan Hawke over Skype about his Baghuul issues.

Probably the best HITB of the Summer season. Their reviews of Demoniac, Scarlet Witch, and Suicide Squad were fun enough, but you could tell that they hadn't engaged with the material to the extent they are here.

With Scarlet Witch, the entire review felt like two men dead inside being forced to discuss a movie they'd barely mustered up the energy to blandly stare at. Which was fine and appropriate for Current Year Marvel slop. But I feel like the Malignant review is going to be one I put on again to listen to as background noise.

We mentioned on here before that we would eventually be doing a Jay and Rich re:View that ranks all of John Carpenter's theatrical movies. Since it's getting close to Halloween season, we decided to finally shoot it! It was a 2 and a half hour discussion and covered a lot, even some of his made-for-TV stuff. It'll end up being split into two parts and released closer to October (or maybe even into early October).

We're also planning out our next Best of the Worst episode, which we'll be shooting soon. We're going back to black spines

I was hoping they were going to do a RE:view of Dirty Work with Norm McDonald.

Black Widow lel

But I agree otherwise. RLM is best when they get something weird to really sink their teeth into. "Yep... it's average alright" isn't going to generate interesting discussion.

LOL. Didn't realize I had done that.
Look, they're both pouty redheads in leather whining about their imaginary families.

Hey everyone. We previously mentioned the upcoming re:View ranking all of John Carpenter's movies would be split into two parts, but it was starting to feel kind of exhausting so we decided to split it up into three parts instead. First one comes out tomorrow.

I love Prince of Darkness and The Fog so I'm surprised he ranked them so low. Admittedly there is a lot of nostalgia for the latter as it was the first "real" horror film I remember seeing, but it still stands up as a straight forward, old fashioned ghost story.

I like Jay's outfit. Where can you buy that polo with all the colorful skulls and ghosts?
If this isn’t it, then it’s almost a direct ripoff.

Good episode but I thought the format could perhaps be done a little better. It was odd they'd only talk about a film once Rich selected it, I probably would have just done each film as either of them read it out though perhaps that would lead to a less climactic top 2 selection? Also would have been fun if on top of rating the films themselves they also made a separate list guessing how the other would rate them. Give it a bit of a competitive edge with some score tracking shenanigans. Regardless, it was quite enjoyable and I really appreciate them making this type of content. It's not as rewatchable or chuckle filled as a BotW, it simply has a good balance between showcasing their different personalities while going into a moderate depth, and comfortable, discussion of a good film maker.

I really like Dark Star. It's the perfect 2am movie. I'm guess the RLM crew wouldn't be Red Dwarf fans either.
I rented it from Netflix back in the day. I remember there were two cuts of the film on the DVD, a longer cut and a shorter cut. I watched the long one and ended up wishing I'd gone with the shorter version. I generally liked it, but they're right about it feeling padded,
