-Jay probably has left-wing views but knows to keep it a secret and is turned off by perfomative wokeness.
-Jack and Josh we know are soycucks.
Jay definitely seems left wing to me, but he's also more of a old school, down to Earth breed like you used to find in the 2000s, I'm sure he finds a lot of modern SJW shit head scratching even if he keeps a lot of it to himself.

And Jack and Josh aren't that bad, if they were full on soy they would be demanding RLM "make a stand" and Tweet Black Lives Matter and all that shit, but they don't.

All of those guys are of an older breed, 2000s style left wing, which is a lot more reasonable and down to Earth.

I don't think its much of a stretch to assume that they were perhaps more political in the past but current events have just caused them to become totally disillusioned with either side of the political spectrum. Aside from the really hardcore politispergs on Twitter that's basically the default political compass everyone has these days anyway.

The thing that helps them with the lack of internet drama is that they didn't grow up in the internet era.
Mike was already pushing 30 when he made the first Plinkett videos.
They would have plenty of drama if it was them from the Gorilla Uninterrupted times that were around right now but they got through their cringy phase in the late 90's and early 2000's, good for them.
Also, Mike is a workaholic (not my words, the other RLM guys called him that) so he doesn't waste time on bullshit drama and everyone else just follows his lead.
How the hell is Mike a workaholic? Their entire job is to rant in front of a camera about movies. If he was pulling 40 hours a week he should have 10 videos out (movie 2hr, rant 1hr, edit and upload 1hr)

They use the same sets too. Its not like they're going full Contra with costumes and skits and sets almost all different every episode.

They barely can get out one vid a month. Even if it was a problem with getting co-hosts he should be able to churn out a Plinkett more than once a year.

So alot of youtubers will fire up OBS rant on articles for 10 minutes so they can get favored by the all mighty algrathiam

Anyway the fact they dont shit out "content" and put effort into it speaks to their level of "profesionalism"

They didnt keep doing plinket. They started half in the bad, best of the worst, NERD CREW, and those talk about stuff.

Plus they stay away from their fans which is smart.

You have to understand what im saying, how the fuck is mike a "workaholic" when the results show he doesnt seem to do shit. All he has to do is talk about movies and it takes them a month to do that. Unless by "workaholic" he means does 2 hours of work and drinks on the job, i dont see how he is considered the hard working one

Does anyone know what episode of Best of The Worst it was where Jay quotes Pee Wee's Big Adventure: "Paging Mr Herman, Mr Herman you have a call at the front desk" early on?

And Jack and Josh aren't that bad

Josh is that bad though, he just is kept in line for RLM videos or has enough sense to not say anything. He has absolutely lost his shit and sperged on Twitter like a typical soyfuck plenty of times. IIRC he got particularly bad during the Milwaukee riots a few years back.

They released over 6 hours of content over the last month, that's pretty good, considering that it's all nicely edited.
Try editing a video like BOTW that's 90 minutes long, that takes time and effort.

If you actually do your job well, editing takes exponentially longer than the footage you're going over.

Let's take botw. 3 movies, 2 hrs each, they film themselves watching so that's 6hrs you have to rewatch and mark where memorable reactions are.

The discussions are probably closer to 2-3 hours with tangents and redos so now you have to watch all that to mark what's salvageable vs what needs to be cut.

So we're now looking at 9 hrs for raw footage, which mike has to then go over again AT MINIMUM. That's 18hrs or nearly half of a 40 hr work week. Never mind multiple cameras. If you have 3 cameras set up for a 3 hr discussion then thats 9 hours you're reviewing. Then you get into just the actual editing process where you can spend several minutes just to get 5 seconds perfect and the time is quickly filled.

Game Knights takes 1 month to produce and edit 1 of their major game sessions. Heck I got a buddy that does super simple dorky youtube videos. By his estimate, 10 minutes of video takes about 1 hour to edit (and his set up is VERY basic). Even by that metric a single hour Botw would take 6 hrs to edit.

So your "1 hr to edit" estimation is bullshit.

EDIT: ninja by @Idiotron

To add in to the editing shit - they've got multiple cameras running at several different angles, plus several mics all running in parallel. The process of mastering those mics to remove instances where one mic picks up audio from someone else talking takes a while, as well as removing things like breathing in or popping or so-forth. Compressing Rich's laugh enough to keep it from clipping but leaving that rich sound intact has to be a nightmare on its own.

Shit is infinitely easier if you're got one mic and one camera you're working with, like most of the youtube parasites.

This is how Mike edits his videos....

Alright peep this my nigs: I have beef with Red Letter Media.

When Mike and Rich were rating their favorite TNG episodes I was thrilled to see that Rich and I had the same favorite episode. Who Watches the Watchers is indeed great. And they only talked about the episode for a couple minutes.

Fuck you Rich Evans.

I really did like those episodes, picked a lot of interesting and overlooked episodes, and glad it wasn't a circle jerk over The Inner Light, which is amazing but has been talked about to death.

Yeah, the "I work 80 hours" week is something you see all the time from these fucking "10 min videos" bullshit.
I think one of the worst is Tim Poole. I saw him vehemently refuse to appear one of his guest's podcast (Imagine refusing to do somebody's show after they've done yours) and claim he his busy every single moment of his day.
He claims he does "Research" all this time, when he just fucking sits there and read an article and react for 10 minutes, no editing, he even admit he doesn't do retakes or anything. Just turns on the webcam and then rant for 10 minutes, sometimes not even capable of staying on subject and going into one his rants.

But yeah, Tim, I'm sure you do more work than anyone who has a real job. It's so fucking insulting. Plus I suspect it comes from a place of insecurity. They know that they earn their living doing little work so they have to constantly talk down to everybody else about "how much they do" to somehow justify themselves. I hate it, and I do love that outside a few offhand comment about Mike being a workaholic and that not even coming from Mike himself, RLM doesn't pay into that trope, when ironically, they do appear to spend a lot more work on their videos than 90% of other Youtubers. And despite that, you still have somebody saying they should be shitting out videos every day. JFC.
