Am I the only one that actually enjoyed the Max Landis episodes?
The best part of the Max Landis episodes was watching Jay struggle and fail to contain his growing irritation at Max’s bullshit.

When Rich is giving the synopsis of Double Down and Max won’t shut up about Breen’s balls and then Jay and Mike also chime in just so Rich will finally address it and shut Max up ... good times.

Max is... a complicated figure, yes he's a douchebag but he's got a certain energy that makes him entertaining to watch and he had good chemistry with the RLM crew.

Of course it was best as a one and done.

He has... his moments. I liked parts of it, but then that moment when he's tormenting Rich over the summation of Double Down is right when I wanted to see him get smacked. Landis has energy, I'll give him that, but like his hair and clothes, you can tell this is a man who doesn't know when to stop being loud. (I think a bit more time with the group, he might have found a grove.)

I mean say what you will, but Mac at least seems to get when to pull back and let a joke breathe. Heck, his first episode is worth it just for him silently bullying everyone to pick home alone as the BotW - and then picking another movie himself. That entire sequence only worked because it was quiet.

I think also the key difference is that in his episode, you could tell Landis was a fan of RLM and was trying (too hard at times) to create a "classic" moment with them - to actually experience one of their memes. Mac was far more chill and you can tell he's less self conscious about trying to be "experience" RLM and is just enjoying himself.

Besides, he and Rich are a cute couple.

FYI in the interest of crossovers, if you jump to the 12 min mark in this review, Chuck sets up a pretty good joke with RLM as the punchline.

I thought that the WOTW BOTW would be next, looks like I was wrong. I guess they are still editing the video. Also, what are anyone thoughts on the recent HiTB?

I really liked it. The snarkiness of the opening jokes were great but also the interactions and spontaneous jokes between Mike and Jay were nice to watch. I got a few laughs out of hearing them describing Aquaslash, they made Vats of night sound interesting enough that I might check it out if I get the chance.

The one moment that sums up the Max Landis episode for me:
Mike and Jay: Fuck you, Victoria Jackson, Linda Shane!
Jay: You should be a-shaned of yourself.
*Max leans forward, begging for a high five*
Jay: Uh, ok, I guess...

I stopped watching after the first few minutes of the The Vast of Night discussion to watch the movie instead. I do not regret this decision. It was not great, but it is a nice movie to watch if you just want to watch a movie.

Yeah i skipped spoilers because it sounded like my kind of film.

Breaking news: AIDS Moby is an alcoholic.

Not really crazy or funny enough to archive, so the TL;DR: Jack has struggled with alcoholism for years, was often drunk through BotW episodes, and has been sober for 1 year as of today. Good for him.
That was the most boring AA confession ever uttered. I'm not even sure about his diagnosis as an alcoholic.
I think he has mentioned his depression on occasion. I hope he wasn't drinking while taking SSRIs.

I'm betting that was mainly an attention grab. Nothing like a hug box to get the Patreon flowing again. Most of his side projects have gotten stale.

Fuck Jack.

Lol cant believe I missed his confession. As if I needed it after how pants wetting shitfaced he gets on some botw.

Ya made the right call staying away from the stuff Rich

So whats more likely to happen: a Re:View of STD season 3, or a Re:View of Below Decks?

Or Mike going into an alcohol induced coma while Rich just sits there and laughs
STD season 3, they're already two seasons in and Mike needs to desperately think its going to get better while Rich needs to suffer more.

Below Decks is unlikely just because they don't do animated stuff and Mike might be done with NuTrek but it would be interesting to see them review an animated show. We could see just how much Mike knows about animated comedies and listen to him and Rich discuss how well Trek works in an animated medium as opposed to live action. Hell they could talk about the Star Trek Animated series or Mike and Richs experiences in Voice Acting. Don't know how entertaining it would be it would probably end up being them saying "this joke isn't funny", "this character isn't funny", and "the premise isn't suited for Star Trek this would work better as an original series".

I somehow missed this post but you know what, I kind of called this earlier in the thread when I pointed out that it seemed like the RLM crew were drinking less. That said I had no idea it was because of Jack in particular, but I could tell just by looking at what they've been drinking for the past few Best of the Worst episodes that it seemed like everyone was trying to drink less and everyone in general seemed more hyper and caffienated than buzzed.

Speaking from my own experience, Jack's description of being a subtle boozer is sadly accurate. Its really easy to hide heavy drinking if you just shake it off and don't do anything stupid like try to drive home or get into a fistfight, and its especially easy to hide if the people around you get drunk way easier than you do. I was ready to make fun of him for it but if anything I'm gonna call a spade a spade and his description neither exaggerates nor distorts how that kind of thing can go down. I wish him luck in staying off the sauce.
