I liked Hostel 1 and 2 as well, but haven't bothered with any of his movies since.
I liked Hostel 1 and 2. I've hated everything else by Roth.

Is Hostel 2 actually that good? Hostel 1 really needed to work hard to earn my approval but I did end up really liking it in the end. The plot outline to Hostel 2 sounds like it undoes everything I gave a fuck about in the first one.

Weird, I thought it was The Crazies for some reason.

Well, its definitely George Romero directing, and also although IMDB disagrees with me I'm convinced that the bearded eyepatch dude is the same guy who plays the scientist that (almost) discovers the cure in The Crazies.

It was the same guy, Richard France. Romero reused a lot of Pittsburgh actors, like him and John Amplas, in his 1970s and early 80s films.

Hostel 1 is actually played straight as a horrifying drug and sex trip to eastern Europe gone wrong.

Hostel 2 is like self-parody, the human hunting cabal are Men In Black who sneak into the main character's house and decapitate her boyfriend and then prop him up near the kitchen table with a bowl of cereal, everything is over the top.

That's probably what got me confused.

Kinda funny the final Discard episode hasn't come out yet, despite how unexpectedly quick all the others were.

Literally everyone I'm subbed to all stopped with the review episodes around 6. Can't say I blame them. No one sane could stomach that crap; Mike is in denial, which is the only reason he's so desperate to console with Rich. Not genuine interest.
