I first heard of The Last Dragon thanks to I-Mockery's article on it which I would have read in 2007 or so, I actually watched it once while on a vacation back in 2009.

It's lot of fun, so 80s it feels like a self conscious parody of the decade, but nope, that's just how the culture was back then.

Someone posted this on the subreddit earlier but it looks to be deleted. Haven't seen this oldie before. My guess is it doesn't last long on youtube because of all the music clips.
Fucking lol of course Mike made a 17 minute video making fun of the "NOOOOO" scene.
I imagine while the rest of the world was a bit surprised that a feature-length criticism of the Phantom Menace existed upon discovering Red Letter Media, almost everyone in Milwaukee who had heard Mike talk about Star Wars before went "yeah that sounds like Mike".

EDIT: Mike awkwardly trying to explain what YTMND is at the six minute mark is fucking adorable.

Young, standard definition Mike looks like a random dude someone Deepfaked his face onto.
It blows my mind that "young" Mike is 27 in this vid. He looks like he could be a tall high schooler.

Related: I'm trying to pinpoint the exact moment in time Mike let himself go because he was so slim and youthful looking for a long time then just got hella fat and started looking older then his real age. He still seemed slim in The Grawbowskis, getting a little fat in Feeding Frenzy, then by the time they started making HitB in 2012 he's full on shlub. Right around the time he started dating Jessi. Coincidence? I think not.

I like to think that Jay is a succubus. When you see their really old stuff, Jay is nerdy and awkward looking, and Mike is actually a pretty good looking guy.

As time has gone on, Mike has become a fat drunk and Jay has developed into a pretty handsome guy, even by non-RLM standards.

So yeah, Jay is draining his soul for sustenance and Mike doesn't know it, lol.

Whoa, Mike used YTMND back in the day? That is some awesome trivia.

I wasn't there for it at the beginning because I'm not that much of a cool kid, but I think this was the video that put them on the map way before the Plinkett stuff ever existed or got big.

Hey, the Relationship 45 is real, just like the Freshman 15.

Presumably she cooks (cooked? guess we still dunno if they're still together) for him. Inevitably in any relationship where one partner cooks the other one will gain a bunch of weight. Happened with my folks; Dad was a line cook.

Back when Red didn't let life get him down.

Wasn't there a Pre-Rec that showed her briefly and she had also gained a bunch of weight.
I wish I watched pre-rec, I would love if anyone can dig this up. Her default build was always preggo pot belly with big boobs, but not outright blimp. She always looked like the kind of girl who would blow up fast though. I was on a discord some time ago that decided to try to find Jessi's active facebook and the best they could do was one of her single mom sisters whos facebook was mostly public. Sister (I forget her name) was smokin hot. Must have been where all the good genes went.

Never seen this before. Oh my god, they're practically infants in this video.

I love the moment when Mike accidentally ruins a lunch date with a simple question about Star Wars. Talk about an incompatible couple. Haha.

Yes, that 2005 video is really fascinating, though it kinda bums me out with how long ago it makes 2005 seem.
