They had to have been pulling decent scratch from Twitch subs alone. Weird to walk away from such easy money.
There was also a post a couple of months ago where someone asked Jack to start making Pre Recorded again and he said that "It's not just up to me, so it's probably not gonna happen." :
Seems like discontinuing Pre Recorded was Rich's idea and Jack didn't want to.
I never got the impression canceling was Jack's idea. It always felt like Mike pulled the plug. RLM is Mike's company. Mike owns the studio. Mike hates video games and got nothing out of streams money wise. He probably felt it was taking up too much time and wasn't "on brand" enough and told Jack to stop it. Also he was probably pissed at how much Jack talked candidly with fans. Mike seems like a tightass about fan outreach and didn't want any loose ends. What I don't understand is why Jack didn't just take it up on the side on his own channel or twitch. Does he even DO anything outside of RLM appearances anymore? It's like they want him to uphold "the brand" but he isn't an official employee so that isn't fair. I also noticed they never mentioned RLM or anything on Allisons shit video. They shouldn't have called it a crossover since that implies RLM crossover. Jack isn't allowed to talk about RLM outside of RLM.

Found it. Jack talked longer about it in the video clip and said they made a merch video it was in and this was the previous merch vid to that stream. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jP3xL2qvEGQ

Time to say goodbye to "12 YEARS IN THE MAKING!"

Yes, I'm sure in 2040, in the middle of the race war and the global climate meltdown, people will really care about a Stephen Sondheim adaption, I mean Into The Woods was such a massive hit, am I right?

I mean its pretentious, but at least he is treating cinema as some sort of artform.

Would you prefer he was attached to another endless superhero/brand movie?

VERY COOL!

I was just joking about the fact that if the year 2040 isn't some Mad Max hellscape I'll be surprised, but if not then yeah, that movie will be interesting I guess.

I admire his ambition, but alot could happen in 20 years. He's 59 years old, what happens if he dies midway through? Will someone have to pick up the pieces or will that be years wasted? Though that could be said about his first attempt so we'll see what happens. Given that it's an adaption, however, there's much less room for improv, unlike boyhood where they adapted the script to match the times.

I guess it's not really a topical news item any more, but I hope in the upcoming Nerd Crew video they will still make fun of that "Collider" podcast guy who was salty about not getting a free invite to the Star Wars Galaxy Edge Disneyland park.

They already basically did that:

In the down time between videos I decided to read through the Gilchrist leaked emails that were posted a while back thread. Not the entire thing but I used the search page function for certain names. Here are my cliffnotes.

I can see why Mike fucking hates Gilchrist now. Every fucking email is a long winded philosophical rant. Dude is exhausting and unrelenting. The emails he saved were from late 02 to late 03, right in the middle of the Mike and Jay feud. Gilchrist feels he is in the middle having to choose sides and wanted to choose Mike but Mike "pushed him away" so he sided with Jay. But he clearly plays both sides throughout his various email exchanges with Mike, Jay, and Lisa Renley. He seemed oddly obsessed with Mike and kept pestering the fuck out of him in a "I won't let you do this to yourself" annoying ex girlfriend kind of way. He complains at length about Mike ignoring him and how he keeps messaging Mike on AIM and getting little to no response. Says things like "I love you" to him which is fucking weird.

Exchanges between him and Lisa completely confirm the guys had a falling out over her. Jay was a virgin and I think also had never had a relationship or something and Gilchrist philosophizes his obsession with Lisa was from getting older and panicking about not being with someone and latching onto Lisa because he spent a lot of time editing her in private which can cause such feelings? Anyway Jay sounds absolutely love sick and insane during this period, which Jay somewhat admits in convos with Gilchrist.

Lisa is an absolute doll through this whole thing. Feels genuine remorse for hurting Jay and was trying her best to get the guys to be friends again because she felt they were good together. Lisa is the key to all of this. Is genuinely nice to Gilchrist and vents to him. Lisa admits she was absolutely in love with Mike and admired him. I'm sure this drove Jay insane, having crazy feels for Lisa for a while and then having dick swinging alpha Mike take her away no problem. But it seems like their falling out lasted longer then the actual Mike/Lisa relationship.

Mike moves away to Arizona to get a fresh start away from Jay and Lisa in March 03 confirmed. (The shrine thing is a joke from an earlier convo, this is Lisa talking and Gilchrist replying Hahaha)

Lisa seemed sad about it. Mike claims Gorilla Interrupted will be finished only for him and refuses to let anyone including Gilchrist see it. More alpha dick swinging. Gilchrist is big mad over Mike's taunting. But Mike still goes to LA to hang out at some get together from the movie forum they all frequent so it's like he just likes hating on Gilchrist but not enough to not throw him a bone every now and then. Mike mentions wanting to make up with Jay despite shit talking him at every opportunity but Jay is still big mad about Lisa.

I'm dying Lauren also confirmed (Gilchrist talking to Lisa)

Rich Evans' mom dies and Lisa and Gilchrist talk about it. Gilchrist has this to say about Rich's upbringing and it's a little horrifying, but Rich confirmed for God tier human. (Gilchrist talking to Lisa)

Idk I think that was most of the good bits.
