Pinned post from a mod:
Locking this post because for some reason you fucks even make Patton Oswalt to be about politics and internet slapfights about how he killed his wife/didn't kill his wife. Which are in all cases completely inappropriate conversations, let alone to have on a subreddit about RLM and movies.
So this is the heads up that we'll give people who decide to start those arguments or accusations in future threads where Oswalt is the subject for, perma bans. Thanks.

This gon b gud.

Where are we getting this idea that he killed his wife?
It was a whole conspiracy because the initial claim of her dying of a xanax overdose didn't fit with the timing (according to the internet), and it took forever for the LA coroner to declare an official cause of death (I'm actually not sure if they ever did). That, combined with Oswalt using her death as an opportunity to further sperg about politics on twitter, led to a bunch of people outside your usual conspiracy theorists embracing the idea he killed his wife as an in-joke to troll him for milking her death to such an extent.

EDIT: He also remarried like super fast after her death, which only made the conspiracy more popular.

Jokes aside, it's much more plausible she simply committed suicide, for the entirely understandable reason that she was married to Patton Oswalt.

Wasn't he in Space Cop?
I know Tim Heidecker was on Half in the Bag once, and he's gone down the "Trump is Hitler" insanity rabbit hole.

RLM has always managed to separate politics from their work, so I trust them with bringing Patton on.

Too bad. I noticed the same thing with the guy who made the Too Many Cooks video. His Twitter was the usual Absurdist/sarcastic/weird humor page and the instant Trump got in he dropped the schtick and started beating that "Trump is Hitler!" Drum.

I hope they discuss the 2016 Ghostbusters remake with Patton too.
Pretty sure Blueneckbeard has frantically jumped on to every single "EVIL BIGOTNURDS HATE THIS BECAUSE IT HAS WAMMEN AND STUFF!" bandwagon imaginable from star wars to captain marvel to probably this new terminator disaster, to the point where he was whining about how much of a pathetic creep James Rolfe was for saying he didnt like Nu-Ghostbusters back when that shitshow was happening.

Also I have a feeling that the usual ResetEra tier suspects are going to use him appearing on RLM to try and start a witchhunt for "legitimising bigoted youtubers who are known icons of the alt right" and within a week I predict he will be grovelling and pleading forgiveness for having sinned by "accidentally associating with literal nazis"

I've got to give Doug Walker credit for making a dig at Oswalt's asinine behavior towards James Rowlfe in his latest NC video.

Wasn't Oswalt's wife one of the writers on that shitfest? I think that was his reasoning for unloading on Rolfe. Of course, one could argue Rolfe disrespected the late Mrs. Oswalt much less than Patton did by remarrying when she was barely cold.

I don't think so. I think that confusion came from a Twitter user who made some sarcastic comment to Oswalt after he insulted Rowlfe, saying he was only defending the movie because his wife was in it, i.e. as one of the ghosts (dur hur).

I can't remember which "journalists" attacked Rowlfe first. Oswalt is basically just an NPC drone that parrots back all the SJW rhetoric he reads to seem smart. I wouldn't be surprised if he all he knew of Rowlfe was something he read in the Mary Sue.

His attack on Rolfe was fucking shameful. James is one of the few YouTubers I can tolerate, because he's moderately entertaining, relatively well-informed, and has no real ego issues. His refusal to review the new Ghostbusters was perfectly polite and respectful, and clearly stated to be due to his distaste for remakes in general, especially of a movie that was a formative experience for him. Oswalt jumping on the bandwagon just confirmed what a raging turd he is.

I thought he was fine in Space Cop.

If he does sperge, hopefully it's left on the cutting room floor (if Mike is editing, that should be a gurantee since he's stated he tries to keep politics out in a episode of BotW featuring Undefeatable).

If there's Trump jokes, I wouldn't care if it was funny and not the same muh nazi bs.

Well, I guess they need another Hollywood asshole to fuck up one of their videos now they've had to memory hole Max Landis.

Do they actually think the viewers like the guests or do they only bring them on to stroke their egos?

What video would that be?
