I leave a playlist of RLM on whenever I draw or noodle with my guitars or whatever and I think I've pinpointed the exact moment I started disliking Josh: When he becomes a whiny fucking baby over the "Juicy Shaq Meat" bit.

Like, dude, you always rip into Rich for being a dingus, and you rightfully should, but when it turns back around onto you looking like a fool vicariously it's some big fucking to-do.

I GOT THAT REFERENCE AND I CLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPED

Also The Rocketeer Episode was great, especially discovering Rich's love for Art Deco Architecture.

I watched The Rocketeer once when I was about seven and I barely remember anything about it beside Cliff flying low to the ground and saying "Whoa, BIG gophers". I do remember liking it though. I need to watch it again.

I haven't read the Rocketeer comic in so long. I don't remember much, but I remember thinking it was better than the movie when it came out.
It might have just been a case of "they changed it, so it sucks" on my part at the time. I used to think like that more when I was younger.

In the comic, Jenny's character WAS pin-up model Bettie Page and there was a little bit of T&A that would have been nice to see young Jennfier Connolly do.... push the movie to a PG-13 instead of the dreaded PG that it got. Although, perhaps that's what the Disney Company was aiming for back in 1991.

Just a reminder that the Rocketeer was released in '91. Filming began in '90.

The delectable Ms. Connolly was born in '70 so at the time she was 20-21.

Resume your drooling guilt free now, meatbags.
(that dress does show her meatbags off well though)

Yeah, Labyrinth is the one you gotta feel guilty over.

Phenomena (Creepers in the US) for most of us boomers. Even my gay ass thought she had some mystifying beauty when I was younger.

TBH she looked the same for a looong time. Always assumed it was some maturity she had compared to most people her age, but now I feel awkward discussing this.

I recall coming across a comment by some Tumblrite (who I gathered felt that comics like Lumberjanes are the height of sequential art) that Stevens' work was no good and he only got recognition because he drew "sexy babes", as if that were a bug instead of a feature.

I was sort of aware of Stevens as an illustrator - post-Rocketeer he primarily produced work for posters, private commissions and cover illustrations for comics and books, that sort of thing but I came across some of his early comic work in comic shop back-issue bins, like his contributions to the Pacific Comics anthology series "Alien Worlds", for which he contributed two covers and at least one story, with inking duties on another, he was part of a lineup of talent featured in the title like Al Williamson, Gray Morrow, Bruce Jones, Frank Bruner and so on.

Those pages have some of the best page composition and panel layout I've seen in forever. Love full body illustrations that jive perfectly with panel coordination.

TBH Mike and Rich are cuter

I love seeing Mike talk about movies he actually loves. He gets so invested and animated. I love his disparaging comments on Half in the Bag and BotW, but it’s also nice to see him enjoying himself.

I got really excited when I saw the notification for this video. And I agree that it's a nice change of pace to see these guys ENJOY something, lol.

I loved this movie when I was a kid. It's so underrated and underappreciated! I didn't see it in theaters, but I watched it on video SO many times with my mom (who was a huuuuuge fan of it back in the day).

I was one of those kids who looked more forward to watching Nick at Nite (when Nick at Nite actually aired classic television) than the "90s Nicktoons" though, so maybe that's why I took to that movie so much when I was really little. I've always loved "older" things.

Anyway, I miss adventure movies like this. Wish they would become a thing again.

Anyone else ever notice that whenever Rich says a joke he thinks is particularly hilarious he'll repeat it while he's laughing?

It's fucking precious.

Man I hated kids like you when I was younger. Now that I reflect on it, it's probably because I was more similar to you than I would have liked to admit.

Plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery.

Edit: I'm watching this (The Last Straw video) and it's really good.

I finished the Last Straw video last night and if I were Mike and saw that I'd be sweating at least a little. Because the guy beat Mike at his own game. It doesn't invalidate Mike's Plinkett video on Jedi but it easily tops it. And I watched a bit of his Force Awakens review and yeah, Mike spent way too much time ranting about the Ring Theory but I think that could be chalked up to Mike at least partially liking Force Awakens (he said he loved it during the Half in the Bag) and maybe feeling forced to do a video on it? The Last Jedi gave him much more ammo to work with.
