I've always respected them for not engaging with culture war bullshit. It makes their content way more interesting than "UHHH CUCK CUCK CUCK WE WUZ VIRTUE SIGNALING AND I IDENTIFY AS AN ATTACK HELICOPTER, TRIGGERED MUCH?" (12/342) by The Rational Thinkerer and his very funny, original friends.

Their Ghostbusters video was refreshing for being an actual criticism of the film, instead of just a political bitchfest. I remember people being mad about them TOTALLY CUCKING OUT on Rogue One (because they weren't existentially afraid of black stormtrooper guy or w/e) and thought, "Do you really want more of the other shit? Aren't you guys supposed to be the thick-skinned ones?"

Either you can deal with youtube funnymen not conforming to your biases or you can't, and a lot of people evidently can't.
Totally agree.

Though it does get frustrating when you watch them do something like fembusters and you can almost hear them trying to avoid saying what the real problem is: the movie is a faith film and feminism is the religion.

It's the problem with a lot of stuff nowadays. The movie/whatever is barely as good (or worse) as any random christian film and for the same reason. Nobody wants to call it out though.

What are your guys personal Best and Worst of Best of the Worst?

Best:

Everyone but Rich getting progressively drunker and more insane while analyzing Hack O Lantern and Cathy's Curse is legendary. BUT THERE AINT NO DEMON!

Best episode with a guest:

Simon was great and I appreciate his knowledge of obscure and B cinema. The deconstruction of Rocktober Blood and the scam behind the Blu/DVD release was great. The Pit is a really interesting and unique killer child/pit monster flick.

The one with Jillian and the crew (including Jessi :( ) watching Crazy Fat Ethel 2 would be my honorable mention episode:

Worst episode:

I don't hate their friend or anything but the crew have practically nothing to work with. Hopefully they don't do a 3rd Black Spine Edition.

This is the sort of thing I could go back and forth with forever, but first blush reaction...

Best Episode: Elves, Santa Claus, and Christmas Vacation 2: Uncle Eddie's Island Adventure. Two movies they legitimately enjoyed, with the whole "let's discuss forced rape experiments in front of the kids at the dinner table" thing and their imagined scenario of a bunch of Mexican filmmakers getting bombed on tequila and shooting a Santa Claus movie being particular standouts ... then their lambasting of a genuinely sleazy cash grab. Everyone is at the top of their mockery game, and it's just a really fun episode from start to finish.

Worst Episode: The Photon Effect, How I Saved the President, and Double Down. Allah forgive me. The group's introduction to Neil Breen is easily one of the funniest things they've ever recorded, but the other two are among the most unmemorable movies ever screened. But the real issue, of course, is Max Landis, whose entire presence is about as welcome as metastatic brain cancer.

I dont know, the one with exploding vermine was pretty funny and Surviving edge weapons is just the best movie they watched.

The best episode for me was the first one with Freddie (Ice damns, kiddie ninjas, dog sitter, etc). Has me on the floor every single time.

Worst for me is easily the Cannon Christmas; barring the Christmas Tree segment (which is top notch).
Honestly because I like BoTW the best when bad films are unexpected; Cannon is so.... predictable; I knew exactly what it was going to be, and the Death Wish film got way too much screen-time. I was pretty bored for the most part.
The final movie review was so forgettable, they barely even reviewed it at all. Just a random boring Norris action movie. Absolute waste of my time in every respect and the worst review they've ever done.

Every now and again you get a political or current event relevant comment, but rarely anything past a one liner. And I love that they are content at leaving it at that. They watch and review films and other strange videos while having entertaining banter. They aren't political commentators. Given how the entertainment landscape has been the last few years I absolutely adore them for keeping it this way. So many other content creators (not just youtube related things either) have gone down the route of being unable to draw the line between their content and their social commentary and it has frustrated me to no end and honestly ruined a few of the things I used to enjoy. RLM in the meantime has just powered along doing their thing.

We all know that Mike is a race realist and alt-right supporter, but Jay is probably only into it because he loves manly men.

All the Halloween ones are solid in my book. Would like to see the unedited conversation about Jay killing the family cats on the farm.

Faveorite episodes though are either S.O.S. or Shoji Tabuchi.

Worst episodes: Black Spine #2. The guest is cool but the whole episode was awkward because the material was shit and he just seemed confused at the idea that this is what his friends do for a living.

Max Spaz Landis is a no brainer.

Most though lately feel like going by the numbers. Hope they can find a way to revigorate the show or take a break and create something new to get their juices going again.

Favorites would probably be: Cannon Christmas (please rate me dumb @Guts Gets Some), Bigfoot vs D.B. Cooper/Black Cougar/Raw Force, and Wheel 6 with Osteoporosis Dance

Least favorite, on the other hand: Both Black Spines (even though Don Beveridge is fucking amazing, and I hope Tim gets a better episode sometime soon), and I'm not big on the Spotlight episodes, I feel like they're too "inside baseball".

I suspect we might see delays in RLM's output....

Due to lack of alcohol poisoning.

They're finally doing Project metalbeast! I don't know why I'm excited for it but I find this bad Werewolf flick to be kind of fascinating in a weird way because it has a pretty interesting idea at its core. But it fucks it up.

For anyone interested, here is a (slightly cut) version of Metalbeast as hosted by the legendary Joe Bob Briggs.

@Null Jack and Josh aren't in this episode.

Best ones: S.O.S (on a side note, watching them react to a language I understand was fantastic), The Skateboard Kid (the entire tangent about Don DeLouise accidentally getting someone pregnant), Eloise Cole is Dead (aka the death clown), Slot Machine Strategies (another loser), Quigley (a day in the life of Gary Busey)

Worst ones: Both black spines were boring, not even Partners could save it. Most of the SF ones tend to be the same stuff already covered as well.

First thought: Oh, nice, Freddie's in this, he's always fun.

Second thought: Oh, nice, Sybil Danning's breasts are in this, they're always fun.
