I'm actually really surprised that they liked it as much as they did. Still not really interested in seeing it though.

I am surprised they complained a lot about the cinematography as it's Ron Howard who's usually pretty on point with that. I think they were a bit gentler than they normally would've been because Howard came into the project late and was in for salvage operations (like Jackson did for the Hobbit films).

It does show that they might be going in the right direction with the "A Star Wars Story" films though as you want a film in the universe that doesn't involve all the star warsy shit we usually see.

But yeah, like you I'm not seeing it. I didn't go and see the Last Jedi either.
 
However they predicted a lot about the movie's content back in 2017:


Even with material as limited as the Star Wars Movie Universe.

I somehow disagree on the cinematography with them as I want Star Wars always be a bit dirty, rusty and the like and not as clean like in The Phantom Menace where even the Tatooine streets look pretty clean.

Being a Star Wars fan is LARPing as a nerd via buying merchandise. It's the most mainstream thing in the world. You're not special for liking it, guys. It's basically being an NFL fan at this point on the nerd scale.

Oh well. There's good times, and there's bad times but mostly bad.
 
Well, they didn't pour cauldrons full of vitriol on Solo but they didn't exactly do the critical equivalent of toasting it and singing "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow" either. I think even Jay, who obviously didn't like it, were just surprised that it didn't completely go all in on the fan service. Some bad movies are merely mediocre and humdrum instead of being horrifically bad.

Pros:
- CAMERON MITCHELL RETURNS!
- Rape
- Decent quality Rich Evans squealing
- Quality schlock movies including a prime batshit Wiseau esque canadian movie and a prototype Suburban Sasquatch (which was filmed in a Friday 13th cabin set)

Cons:
- JAAAAAAAAAWSH. And he is there right from the fucking getgo (though he gets interrupted a lot and barely gets a word out after the intro)
- No Mike

All in all.... @Null I suggest you imbibe of the liquor should you desire to watch it
 
I love them losing it over Ryan's Babe.

Also, I guess they're done making Half in the Bag and Best of the Worst episodes. Ryan's Babe can't be equaled.

They don't. There was one BotW in which they did Trump impressions for maybe twenty seconds. Josh apparently rails against Trump on Twitter (I don't follow him), but I don't think he ever really voices his politics on the show itself.
