You would think that, but there is always a reason why so many YouTubers ending up falling down a pit despair that they never seem to be able to crawl themselves out of. Like clockwork, I am never shocked when some popular YouTuber ends up uploading a video one day lamenting how difficult things have been for them and how they are struggling with their channel.

It is tough to some degree being a professional YouTuber because they have less of a safety net under them and more importantly unless they are the top talent on YouTube, they usually have to do all the work themselves.
No, it's just them being pussies and mistaking their audience as their friends. You don't hear any other job bitch on their prospects, but with YouTubers it's somehow the fucking standard.

It's not even correct, unless they went full Boogie, they'd probably manage to score a job without more difficulty than most people.

Oh, it's just a promo. Do you remember the context?
It was an advertisement/demo reel that was on their RedLetterWeddings site, I believe.

I don't know if Josh had like...actual footage of a wedding they shot, but this was the footage that I first saw probably 10-12 years ago. It's old school lore like the still of him in the credits of Laughter Friends. 1756517554298.webp

Part of it is that eventually they reach their peak and when that happens, it's usually not that great. It gets even worse when you see others reaching bigger numbers in terms of views or patreon donations, and the despair that actually, you're not that great sets in.

You also have the moment where the creator tries to branch out into new and better things, only for them to crash and burn like Doug Walker's Demo Reel or Spoony's attempts to get a Hollywood acting gig or get on Jimmy Fallon flopping. They learn that no, they're not that great, people only like them for this one thing and that's all they'll be known for.

The main reason this happens is because these 'professional' youtubers are actually not professionals, they're lazy and half-ass a lot, it's just that that's more acceptable behavior on YT.

Rex Viper Intensifies!!!!

I should've made myself more clear. What I meant by "context" was "why was Josh showing this clip?". I think he was talking about someone whose wedding was shot by RLM.

Also, the thing about Jay... I legit think he's a retard.
I've noticed a pattern of him just not understanding really simple movies, he just doesn't seem to get anything that isn't explained in an exposition dump.
Mike is relatively smart and Rich is not dumb either, Jay is the dummy of the group.
For a while Mike and Jay fell for the same pattern. Old IP gets a soft reboot. Mike and Jay like it. Rich doesn’t. Sequel sucks. All of them hate it.

Mike stopped after Star Trek was butchered. Jay just stopped watching major IP unless they have to. I kinda wish RLM would just decide to play a video game like Lethal Company or get into horror analogue. Fuck this movie shit.

The only suspense was Burying the Ex on this, and I pretty much nailed it. I was a little concerned they might relate to it being a quirky horror comedy. I'm not too surprised about Rich's worst cause there really is tons of people walking around talking the woods.

Those gold contact lenses in the last scene of The Howling are neato. I'm surprised they weren't used more in movies. The only other one that comes to mind is Westworld with Yul Brynner.

It's just too bad that the scene doesn't make much sense. She shapeshifts on live TV and gets shot by one of the other main characters. Why couldn't he wait for a better opportunity? It's not like she was about to attack someone. Did he expect to get away with it?

I prefer The Howling 2 because it's incredibly dumb. They show the last scene from the first one in it and it looks completely different. Dee Wallace is replaced by some other woman and she doesn't look like a Yorkie when she morphs. RLM discussed it on BOTW and so did Spoony.

Another series going through every film by a director, Joe Dante this time.

It seems Rich is putting on weight again. It seemed to me he had actually slimmed down for awhile there.

Haven't watched the whole thing yet, but it seems Innerspace made the cut for Part 2. That makes me happy; it has always been one of my favorites.

The stuff they had to say about the Twilight Zone movie is fun enough that I'd love to see a full Re:View of it, though how you do that without getting lost in the weeds over John Landis getting away with triple homicide is a conundrum.

Also I love Rich's description of The Howling as "the last 1970s movie." Man, that is apt.

Combine this with their former/current relationship with Max Landis and it means that it absolutely isn't happening

Max's video is de-listed and it's such an infamous story from film history that pretty much all film geeks will kick it around at some point. It's unlikely, but I don't think it's totally out of the realm of possibility.

Burying the Ex is like a crappier version of that Dane DeHaan movie, Life After Beth.

Why, though? Is it just because he was accused of molesting some women? Were they afraid of losing ad money or what?
That's only part of it. 1)Max is a hack 2)To discourage others from whining their way onto the channel.

Looks like I've only seen Looney Tunes: Back in Action out of the films featured in their part 1. Do I even bother watching any of the other low tier Dante movies? Keep in mind I think Gremlins 2 is one of the greatest films ever made (fight me).

The Howling is generally regarded as one of the best modern (assuming 45 year old movies are still "modern") werewolf flicks ever made; I sort of suspect that both this and Halloween were "surprises" on Rich's list so they'd have something popular to entice the audience into watching the lousier entries. If you like werewolf stuff, definitely check it out.
