This is a movie concept I’ve had for a while: sleazy ghost hunter fraudster show ends up confronting a real, and real dangerous specter. Have the start demonstrate all tricks they use to fake haunting s for the show, slowly replace them with sundered examples until the characters realize they’re in over their heads. The plot of “mundane profession suddenly faces supernatural element” is really good and really applicable.
That fits a couple of episodes of Supernatural which had a running gag about the Ghostfacers.

Or Mike's liver finally quits and he himself becomes the ghost haunting their warehouse and fucking with Rich's diabetes medication.
Wait a second.....

What if RICH has been a ghost all along?

It would explain everything! And Mike is obsessed with ghosts because he's obsessed with Rich (or is he obsessed with Rich because he's obsessed with ghosts?)

It's an entertaining video, but Puppet Master is such trash that it makes me wonder if they're running out of material for Halloween Re:Views.

On the plus side, if that's true then the odds of next year being dedicated to the Phantasm series just increased. Fingers crossed!

I hope. I really love the Phantasm movies, they feel like labors of love from a group of friends. The last one is a good sendoff for the series, budget be damned.

Also the 1971 Plymouth ’Cuda is one of horrors most badass cars, right up there with the Delta 88 from The Evil Dead films.

TBF, they haven't done a Re:View on the Child's play movies, so maybe next year they can do it.

So what's the story with Jay lopping off his glorious locks of hair? It was a good look for him.

Honestly, I think they're running out of material and enthusiasm period. I've watched some of the newer stuff, and it increasingly looks like none of them actually want to be there, especially Mike and Rich. Youtube's monetization follies have fucked with them so much that they've become "safe", and incredibly boring. It looks like they're just going through the motions, yet they're too stubborn to kill it while they're still on top. We'll never get something like the "Star Wars Holiday Special" vid, or that Halloween episode where they all got shitfaced and had to pause filming for the day because they were too smashed to continue (I was hyperventilating over the discussion of the "Wall" bit).

You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourselves become mediocre.

Patreon Update:

Hello, friends. Lots of shooting to commence this week! We've been busy building our Halloween episode set. I see Jay posted some in progress photos. Rich's Clown looks amazing. Do we post that or do you want to wait for the episode? I'm not sure sometimes if I'm spoiling something or not? Either way, new review coming up, and much much more... maybe a special guest ? I'm not sure though.

Megalopolis? Joker 2? Or will they The Batman 2022 them and instead talk about Kyle Gallner movie #125?

Has anyone seen a movie called Evil Within? I saw it recommended on another forum and I'm fascinated by the story behind it, it's the kind of thing Jay would like and want to do a deepdive on.

It's awesome. I've seen it described as a Tommy Wiseau/Neil Breen-written horror movie with genuinely brilliant visual talent and effects work, which is pretty apt. It's nightmarish, in the best way possible. Maybe Hollywood's slump could be fixed if they just recruited meth addicts off the streets and gave them millions of dollars and carte blanche to make whatever the hell they want.

I don't think I remember him ever mentioning it but I'm sure it's a movie Jay has seen; I think it'd be cool to hear him talk about it. I'm sure the monkey's paw with that would be Josh being the cohost if it's ever delved into on Re:View.

It sucks the title's so generic, but it's the 2017 one, directed by Andrew Getty. He was the grandson of some billionaire and had a shitton of money at his disposal while making it. He started in like 2002 and secluded himself in his mansion trying to perfect it while constantly methed out of his mind until he died around 2015; I think the editor ended up finishing it.

I watched it a while ago and it has really stuck with me because of the dichotomy between the bizarre dialogue and really interesting visuals, all amplified by the backstory behind it, of course. Wonderfully weird film.

Huh. I thought I'd end up upsetting a lot of folks with my take on modern RLM. At least I know I'm not the only one that feels this way. Makes me feel a little bit better about sharing my opinion on it.
