This is the first time I've ever seen a RLM video and let out an exhaustive sigh.

If you still care about star wars in 2024 do the rest of us a favor and get your hands chopped off and your voicebox removed.

The ending with Mike talking about "bowing out" felt like a wise old sage giving wisdom to his pupils but a Gen X nerd trying to help millennial nerds.

Useless retard Jay says that hatewatchers are why Velma got a season 2. Just a fucking lie. They made 5 seasons of Discovery and people weren't watching that at all

considering Patrick Stewart is the IRL version of Alexander Dane.
nah, he's a lot closer to Tim Allen's character. even if it is a shatner rip off, shatner actually gave a fuck about quality and was shakespearan whereas Stewart is all about the action scenes and silly accents, especially if his production meddling on Picard is anything to go by.

Also knowing how Mike and Rich are apparently the only people with an active internet presence online to admit to loving voyager over DS9, there's a 100% shot they probably hate Galaxy Quest with a passion for some stupid bullshit reason.
really showed me that they are far up their own asses.
about a decade back they decided to put some troll video up when people demanded they review some jurassic park or transformers film or whatever, and when people rightfully flagged it for being misleading they were super fucking pissed about it. Like most Gen-X types its very "lash out, but you have to take it without reciprocation"
they had actually made similar reviews for the TNG movies.
it helps that Star trek in general was fucking dead by the 2000s. whereas the prequel reviews came out around the same time as ROTS. doing an epic takedown of Insurrection in 2005 is like doing an epic takedown of the Entourage film now, even the fans aren't going to defend that shitty of a film.
r, though part of me thinks Hicks would have flipped right wing
did you fall out of a coconut tree? Hicks comedy was just reciting the latest DNC propaganda, same thing that every blue checkmark was doing in the trump era. Stanhope tripled down on being a Democrat once trump got in power, no way in hell Hicks wouldn't also be an obnoxious tranny and vaccine loving fruit like Doug. Same thing with Carlin, people forget that the 90s was when the dems were in power because the comedians just went after the religious right anyways. Bill Hicks if he survived today would have had more jokes about fucking kiwifarms than anything the left wing has done in this past decade.
He wanted like a million subs in 2 years, that never happens.
thats not an unreasonable goal, especially for its era. Jack was right on the money about video game hang outs like that. you really telling me funhaus or roosterteeth or game grumps or others of that nature didnt hit a million subs in 2 years, and he literally had the RLM guys fanbase to leech from.
and they would always end up attacking the chat for some opinion almost nobody had about how they were playing the games wrong or whatever. Just awful vibes.
nothing kills a fanbase more than attacking it. its the reason the phrase "the customer is always right" was invented, if you act defensive and lash out then new viewers see that and go "i don't want to be a regular" meanwhile if you engage with your fans they'll stick around forever. O&A was shouting out fans all the time. to the point where a lot of their best content in the entire history of the show is just them talking about what their fans were doing or sending them.
Nowadays.... what was the last thing you saw referenced outside itself?
i think a bigger point to what you're saying is because of the death of tv/film comedy. thats where you would see shit being parodied. such as say that black disney princess film, or say Death Note. or Big little lies. (all recently parodied by family guy/simpsons/snl) you won't see a mainstream comedy just do 1 for 1 recreations of the last 10 minutes of an iconic film like they did in wayne's world because no film studio would greenlight that, same with parodies like naked gun which also did that train and baby carriage scene parody. OTOH with the rise of tiktok and youtube you can get much cheaper but hilarious parodies of films like Hotel Rwanda or Frankie in blunderland and those are only possible because of how cheap it is to make comedy videos.

Mike apologized for the starving African kids joke and admitted his own hypocrisy regarding lore inconsistencies in Star Trek. He even apologized to that one angry Star Wars fan he mocked.
Almost sounds like he reads this thread.

Can't speak for the niggercattle but I pirate everything, so if I am hatewatching something it's not doing any harm to anyone except maybe me. I thought any young person did this, but apparently these days if you are younger than the age of 25 you have never touched a torrent client in your life.

I mostly didn't mind their last commentary on Star Wars: Acolyte. I stopped caring about Star Wars a while back.

That being said, it's refreshing and genuinely nice that Mike recognized his hypocrisy and apologized.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=YieefGRusWQOh boy a new re;view to completely skip over
Mike's brain is completely fried. He literally says "If there are no enemies (Sith), why are the Jedi so good at combat." He quickly realizes what a dumb statement this is and tries to make a point about how the Jedi are overqualified for combat in a peaceful time. Acolyte is fucking awful, but these ideas are analogous to real life examples.

Like Alex Jones once said while explaining the prequels, these are CHILD level ideas. Child level!

And the Jedi aren't good at fighting in this show either. Anyone who does not have plot armor got killed by Smilo Ren and it's actually explained by Yord VPN.

"His movements make no sense. He doesn't follow the rules of combat."

Yeah, because sparring is never quite the same as real combat. especially when the Jedi have been running McDojos for thousands of years passing on erroneous, untested information.

EDIT: Also, and this is more of a Ryan Kinel argument, but it does make sense for Jedi to flourish around for blaster deflection purposes. Which also made them weak in close quarters with another lightsaber wielder. Old EU called it Form III and I bring it up because this show randomly brings up old EU like the plagiarist that it is.

I think he's correct.
Everyone watched season 1 just to laugh at it but that still counts as views.
I have a feeling that season 2 bombed because the jokes have been made and people moved on.
Ain't nobody talking about it anymore, including the media and Warner Bros.

As for Discovery, I know a lot of normies who really like that show.
None of them are Star Trek fans but that show wasn't made for Star Trek fans.

Didn't Hicks even have a joke with the punchline that Reagan deserved to die. He would've fit right in 2024.

Came here to say this, they repeated it over and over that hatewatchers got velma a second season instead of it having all the episodes from the getgo and splitting them.

At least mike apologized for mocking star wars fans over the exact same thing he was seething about in startrek.

Patreon Update:

Hey everyone! We've got a season wrap-up of The Acolyte coming soon and then we're also planning to do a Half in the Bag for Deadpool vs. Jason or whatever the hell it is! Coming soon!

Exactly. The second season was part of the deal no matter what, just like STD and its five seasons. Also about Velma, this is the usual Hollywood business, they order a second season right after the first episode aired to pretend that it's a success and to reassure the investors as the access media start writing puff pieces.
