I do like how some people are saying "oh, so RLM LOVES the new Ghostbusters and gave it a too positive review!" and you know, it's hardly an endorsement to call a film a "dry fart".

Similar to how their tepid response to Captain Marvel had some people angry that they had ruthlessly trashed a superhero movie with a Strong Female Lead.

Sounds pretty close to what mike was talking about in one of the reboot videos. I really like the idea that Bill Murray is just a complete corporate Scrooge that could actually care less about people. How you could properly nostalgia bate is maybe having bill discover a box of old photos or they all grab Chinese food at a restaurant and talk about old times. It would be super cheesy but still better than what the modern films are doing.

It’s a pretty 80s plot for a modern film about a film from the 80s you know?

I kid you not I have not seen too many commercials for the film. I saw one last week maybe but they really farted out this film.
Yeah, the difference is Mike is focusing on Bill Murray and I would want to use him less so that the schedule can be slightly more predictable than not at all. That's why I suggested filming him when playing golf. It's cheap and lazy and mostly done to accommodate his whims, but he was going to play golf and dick around anyways. The OG cast can promote to the logical version of whatever characterization they said. Winston would be the CFO, so his thing is showing the board graphs and charts about quarterly earnings and how even with a worldwide franchise, they're still in the red, Ray can be head of R&D so that he has a reason to deliver exposition, and Venkman can be CEO that dicks around with board members. It also shoves them into supporting cast rather than leads as they really are too old to be ghostbusting.

I also didn't know this movie was coming out, nor the Planet of the Apes one either. They feel similar to me in the public conscious in that they have just enough audience to justify making sequels, but no one actually talks about them at all.

Half In the Bag: Ghostbusters Frozen Empire
https://youtube.com/watch?v=8pgmrrrupu4That was a quick followup
Does that mean we will get the Dune Part 2 review?

Also, I will mention a few things that the RLM boys forgot to notice. First of all, people didn't notice the new Ghostbusters movie came out, because it wasn't marketed well, that and the first one came out still during the pandemic (again 2021) so it had good reviews because it was streaming and not in theaters, where as this one was in theaters, therefore lower ratings. Granted, Dune Part 1 came out during the pandemic, but that was a part 1 of a movie and it was originally going to be released last year until pushed back, hence why it is more acclaimed. And second, Back To The Future had been revived just not in movies form but it did have a cartoon series, a point and click video game that took place after the third movie and most recently a Broadway show. So yeah, it has been revived.

because it wasn't marketed well,
It was. If you turn off your adblockers and watch TV you'd see ads all over the god damn place. It was awful.

so it had good reviews because it was streaming and not in theaters

Also wrong. Afterlife was released in theaters first and had the usual streaming/VOD release 2-3 months later.

Those are non-cannon continuations and revivals. I don't care if some asshole in California say's his game is the official part 4. It doesn't fucking matter because it's not cannon. Did Hicks survive Alien 3 because of some convoluted bullshit in that Aliens: Colonial Marines game? Fuck no. Hicks is dead. Vidya doesn't count. Comic books don't count. Cartoons don't count. Neither does a faggot Broadway show (holy fuck, using a Broadway show is the most desperate reach you can make because holy fuck is that fucking Spider-Man Broadway Into the Dark or Into the Asshole or whatever the fuck it is, is that cannon? FUCK NO.).

This post is just fail. Teacher takes out the red pen and just marks the whole fucking page. You didn't even put your name on the sheet or the correct date.

A decade's worth of marketing from grifters on either side of nerd franchises now means that responding with a tepid "eeeeh" gets both sides mad at your for being insufficiently committed to their fandom/hatedom.

That’s interesting, I watch YouTube via TV and I haven’t gotten too many ads I’m going to assume your probably in your 40s because I’m you younger and I mostly get different nigger cattle ads. I wonder if they weren’t marketing this to younger people as much.

I happened to just be watching TV for a few days and saw quite a few Ghostbusters ads.

Could be a victim of targeted marketing where the target is Gen X or Boomer Lite. Which I have to admit makes sense as Gen Xers are the ones that really care about Ghostbusters even after 2016.

My first reaction to the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice teaser trailer was, "I really want RLM to do a Rich Evans reaction to this." Just to see the dead look of resignation and disgust on his face.

The slow, sentimental version of Day-O they used... good God, they really do make this shit in a factory, don't they?

I am grateful for Jay getting a haircut. Not really because I'm a faggot that cares about other men's fashion, but that the schizophrenic poster will stop popping in with troon theory.

"Obviously Jay is transitioning into a BUTCH TRANSBIAN so he can PEG Rich Evans while LAUGHING at his BALDNESS."
