I'll take a stab that the RLM crew not really talking about woke movies and such is part to avoid controversy since their reviews that keep ro the merits of the movie already draw controversy but because they don't see "woke" as a criticism by itself. In the same way a movie can be bad without being woke a movie could in theory being woke and good. I think Jay especially would make this point that being woke alone doesn't mean the movie will be bad.

Movies like the Excorcist do get called out for being woke because it's such woke by committee, I think Jay even mentioned something along those lines. It's also the reason they kept cutting to pictures of the writers, director, and producers. The woke elements were clearly just checking marketing boxes and not legitimate ideals.

I'm surprised to read that people aren't all too fond of Jack. My personal opinion (lol) is that he's the best 4th seat in any episode. All my favorite episodes are all with Mike, Jay, Rich, and Jack; he just seems to have the best chemistry with the trio. Josh triggers something odd in the back of my brain and I cannot stand him, but that probably goes without saying.

If you watch Pre-Rec streams (I don't recommend it), it becomes abundantly clear that you get what's on the tin: he's a working-class democrat.
