The idea of other religions having exorcisms is an interesting one to address but the multicultural exorcism is retarded because as RLM pointed out that the demon likely won’t give a shit about the salt circle from whatever African tribe is performing it. So it wouldn’t even be the right exorcism to use.

Of course David Gordon Greene is a retard who thinks “COMMUNITY OVERCOMING EVIL!” is a super deep theme.

The Exorcist is what you get when you have this kind of story written by a staunch Catholic. Other religions have their own variations on the idea (the Jewish dybbuk is an especially nasty one) and no doubt you could wring some really great stories out of exploring other faiths.

The Exorcist: Believer sounds like what you get when this kind of story is written by someone who doesn't believe in anything.

Believer is basically the perfect embodiment of a legacy sequel and every trope rolled into one movie. Made by a pretentious hack who thinks he’s deeper than he really is.

Like it’s not as bad as Halloween Ends which while it does have some cool death scenes, Ends was up its own ass about being a character study into “what makes a killer”

Believer is a rehash of the first exorcist movie without any of the things people liked about the original in favor of just doing the same song and dance of just making things bigger (two girls) and having the help of a returning character whose a jaded washout hated by their family. Then making the exorcism bigger by doubling the amount of exorcists to then have some sappy message about hope in the end even though the demon basically won.

RLM's woke fans twist themselves into knots trying to deny the guys are anti-woke. They always claim some hidden nuance behind their blatantly anti-woke comments.
RLM wants to talk about movies in a sane world where they don't have to worry about all that bullshit. The world went insane, but their channel didn't. (Regardless of what the individual members of the crew think or believe.) I always appreciate that.

And their cynicism. I genuinely love that about them.

check them out yourself but my problem is that YMS has *very* out there opinions yet cant stand other people having those of their own
Oh, and he's also a literal furfag. Don't forget that.

I like McBride's comedy shows (especially Vice Principals), so I assume they just suck at horror movies and should stick to what they know (comedy). By all metrics their attempt at horror movies have been progressively worse with each new attempt. At this rate, if they do get their Exorcist trilogy, then by the time of the third one they might actually have a negative Rotten Tomato score.

If you're going to do an exorcism film, you have to do something a little crazy, like the Korean film The Divine Fury, which asks the question, "can an MMA fighter turned priest develop stigmata and team up with an exorcist, before he ends up battling possessed people in a nightclub that looks like a rejected John Wick 2 set design near the climax and finally fight a demonically possessed villain who grows claws and his skin gets all weird and not scaly but it's run through with grooves and segmented areas..." A strictly three star film for me but still, punching out demons with flaming hands is something.

The director, Kim Joo-hwan, went on to direct the Netflix series Bloodhounds, where the action is even better.

My favorite thing about Rich is his don't-give-a-shit. The guy owns who he is. Kind of the opposite of Jay, who I always felt was possessed (heh) of a bit of personal vanity.
This has been my slightly educated (read: based on rare early "leaks" about their actual lives) assumption (And God I hope RLM doesn't lurk here): Jay was a good-natured but kind of awkward younger guy who has really come into his own in his 30s and 40s in terms of looks. (Especially compared to Beardfat... how embarrassing.) If he's a little vain, it's because he's comfortable in his skin in a way he wasn't when he was younger. I think it's fine.

Mike, on the other hand, has become, physically, a representation of the person he always was inside: depressed and tired. And Rich is Rich. They are all three of them a treasure.

I don't know any RLM fans besides the ones in this thread. Where might I find such silliness?

I do think RLM tries to avoid stepping into controversy, especially in recent years, but it's not so much that they're woke as it is they just don't want the headache. I mean, Mike literally refers to this movie as "The Wokecersist," so I don't know how anyone can pretend that away.
If you go looking back in this thread, you’ll see a handful of posters who insist that the RLM crew are a bunch of obvious leftists who hate anything right-leaning, ect ect. And then they get pissy when people tell them to shut the fuck up about politics.

It’s both funny and annoying.

I mean, I thought the consensus was that AIDSMoby and Beardfat are shitlibs, while Mike and Jay are probably just generally reasonable people no strong political leaning who get annoyed at the extremes (as in, they'll mock the Wokexorcist and Captain Marvel but also the old videos by weird Christians and gun-nuts)

Whereas Rich transcends human concerns.
Or is just diabetic.
Or both.

The ultimate Exorcism sequel in spirit is Faith:

Is woke even a right wing term anymore? I think it evolved into general "shallow corporate california leftism" that is increasingly hated for how empty and disconnected it is.

Rich is suffering from a terrible and incurable chronic condition called "pushing fifty."
while being 50 he is also overweight, though i give him massive props for losing a lot of the weight he had in the older vids. it's clear he doesnt take car eof himself as well as he needs to at his age. sitting around all day watching bad movies and eating junk food catches up to you real fast at 50. plus having type 11 diabetes, unheard of strain of aids, and dodeca strain of covid doesnt help either.

i want to see rich take better care of himself so we get many many more years of him; he has watched enough elderly workout tapes at this point that he should be an expert on it.

It's a term used by people who have observed shitlib behavior. Proggies are used to being able to control language and don't want people to be able to talk about the cult running their side of the aisle, that's all.

Junka 4: The Nightmare Continues

While Jay and Rich put the finishing touches on the Halloween set I'm editing the most epic Junka ever. So much weird.... We also have discovered the best 5 minute long video ever to be seen by human eyes. So get ready dickheads, it's time for Junka... probably in November.

See I was right, coming in November. Also the next BOTW won't be coming until Late October.

Spot on with regards to Jack and Beardfat (with Beardfat being measurably worse online, except for Jack's inexplicable defenses of MovieBob, which seems less about politics than simple bad judgment), but there are long standing rumors Mike is some sort of right wing loon. Either it was never true or he's mellowed, at least on camera. Maybe it's because he's from Arizona.

Jay is the one who seems above human concerns; just let the man watch women melting into titpuddles in peace.

Rich has some unfortunate fedora-tipping proclivities, but he's still the one who's probably the most fun to hang out with.

if they didnt already say so then i think it is safe to say junka has mac in it. just had a re:review with him and they seem to like to play that with him. im hyped.

but jay has shown to have left leaning proclivities. i forget the show or movie but he did get into "toxic masculinity" and was making fun of people complaining about that being some heavy handed thing in a show. he also always makes sure to use the term 'little people' rather than midget. there are a few other examples throughout their reviews where he clearly leans a bit left. how far left i dont know, but considering he doesnt spill his spaghetti on camera im guessing it is more a moderate democrat type of stance with him.

i dont really have much of a problem with him, though buying into that bullshit of 'toxic masculinity' is a bit annoying, it is beardfat who is the wort of them.

rich on the other hand has shown to be kind of based at time, what with his 'tranny tracker 9000' joke or his 'now there is a woman i'd actually want to fuck' comment.

mike, to me, just seems like an average guy, not really strongly left nor right either way, but probably leans a bit more to the right on most issues, but only a little bit.
