i dont know about the 'as fuck part', but he has defended her more than once as being charismatic in those movies.i seriously just think it is because he has a boner for her.

out of mike, jay, and rich, i tend to disagree with jay the most on movies. i dont think she was charismatic, i really like blade runner; the exorcists did nothing for me; the blair witch project was boring; black coats daughter also was pretty boring and did nothing for me; and in general, horror movies dont do anything for me. i will say that i did like the vvitch, but that was mostly only because of the historical setting, the actual horror stuff did nothing for me. if it would have been an accurate period piece drama i would have liked it even more.
He does say "charismatic as fuck" in their TFA review. Horror movies can be good, but American horror past 1980 sucks because it isn't about people and their neuroses, it's about the most ridiculous ways a person can be killed. Friday the 13th and Saw are examples of what I mean by murder porn; the people that get killed are awful characters with cliché personalities, so no one cares that they die even though horror requires empathy from the audience to actually unsettle them. So the result of watching movies like this are "those effects are gross/cool!"

The result is that horror movies are streaming quality movies, cheap quality, cheap price, lots of quantity. They work as a business model, but in the same way that McDonald's works.

i honestly skipped the reviews for all of the Disney trilogy. i generally do not care about them enough even to watch their reviews of them. but outside those reviews he has remarked on her being charismatic.

the murder porn stuff is what i consider the dregs of horror movies. scary monster man/murderer has a knife and stabs someone, oh no! i get zero enjoyment out of those kinds of movies. i watched the first saw movie and really didnt like any of it. never seen Friday the 13 but it is certainly part of this genre so i know i shouldn't even waste my time.

as for other types of horror movies, even then not so much. i didnt hate them, but i did watch movies such as rosemary's baby, repulsion, the tenet, black coats daughter, and the exorcist. i wouldn't call them murder porn, and all of which jay has given positive praise to as good horror. none of which did much for me. just not a genre i like.

Jay's love of Pink Flamingos is enough to make me question his opinion on everything.

So I was looking up T-Bone (Wheel #22) for unrelated reasons and stumbled upon this:

Anyone know if this is the same T-Bone?

IMDB wasn't helpful other than getting me the name "Tim Arem" which led to this youtube channel definitely showing T-Bone is Tim Arem, and one of the videos mentions the Big Sur marathon (Big Sur being north of LA, and the T-Bone in the article is allegedly a North Hollywood clown), which is certainly suggestive, but not definitive.

If anyone can archive the videos page (just the page) I'd be appreciative since ghostarchive hates youtube and archive.today is now an endless captcha loop for me after I snagged that LA times article with TOR browser.

Slasher movies starring a supernatural guy with a knife chasing teens never did anything for me either, although I enjoy lots of post 1980 horror movies. I love EC Comics style stories, usually starring a slimy villain (or villain protagonist) who gets their comeuppance. Creepshow and the Tales From the Darkside series are good examples of this. I enjoyed Hellraiser for both its disturbing themes and impressive practical effects gore. Xtro is another story in that same vein that also acts as a deconstruction of the "friendly alien" kid movie genre.

Movies like The Shining and Hereditary prey on our deepest fears (like, what would happen if a family member decided to kill you,) while stuff like Malignant is a fun throwback to "gimmick" slasher horror of the 1980s. There's still a lot of dreck being produced though, mostly direct to video stuff that is produced in a weekend, has cheap CG FX, and exists merely as a cashgrab / tax dodge.

I unironically adore Hard Ticket to Hawaii
I also liked Hard Ticket
never seen it but due to the recomendation in this thread i think i moving it to the top of my to watch list.
Hey it has some great tits in it so nothing to be ashamed of.

Also giant snakes make everything better.
this is the best review ive ever seen for a movie. it definitely made my mind up about watching it.

I got Malibu Express but that movie was fucking terrible. Anything else like Hard Ticket I could look for?
I had gotten the basic version of this for cheap (not the deluxe version)

Did a binge of it one week. Was interesting as the early stuff was pretty fun (Malibu Express isn't terrible as much as pretty "normie") then it got really dull in the middle with things picking back up late in the series. There is some extra lulz to be had nowadays with a couple of the films having a villainous transvestite.

I remember Do or Die with Pat Morita (yes really!) being dumb fun. Maybe Return to Savage Beach too. I'll also admit it's been awhile and we are talking films that are easier to remember by rack appearances than plot.

HT2H is arguably peak Sedaris. Nothing will quite equal that high but some of them are still pretty silly.

Thats Slashers you are talking about, and Saw is very campy gore. Murderporn shit would be August Underground and things of that nature, maybe Man Bites Dog, although that's not really a horror, just kinda.

I love horror, and most of what jay suggests is really tame shit, but with a nice bit of experimental and abstract, but again, he doesn't delve too deep. Maybe it's the format, but I would watch him going much deeper into the shit he truly likes, just as a one-off, so he doesn't need to worry about it offending people he doesn't list Exorcist as the best horror movie ever. He also seems to shy away from anything transgressive, and there is some very interesting stuff (but a lot of shit so I don't blame him entirely) that goes beyond just simple shock.

Watched Cobweb based on their gushing reaction to it. It was fine, very stylized, moderately creepy. But did it merit the foaming at the mouth praise from Mike or even Jay's more restrained admiration? I really don't think so. Don't get me wrong, it was a perfectly acceptable evening's entertainment, and very good for spooky season, but I'm beginning to think these guys wallow in shit movies so much that even an ounce of artistry makes them go off the rails.

that is exactly what they said during the obi-won review. they spend so much time with shit like picard that their views tend to be tainted. im also sure that is why rich and mike praised season 3 of picard even though every single trek fan ive seen says it is trash just like season 1 and 2.

Season 3 is bad in the sense that a bad fanfiction writer tells stories and that is an improvement over seasons 1 and 2 where the people who were making it don't even have any love for the IP in the first place.

A good fanfiction writer would look at the cast of TNG and ask, "what can this group of actual Boomer actors do?" Real fans of TNG would know that TNG is not an action series. Action happens in it sometimes, but it wasn't. It had three genre choices: horror, mystery, or drama. Picard as a character tend to fit as a drama character first and mystery second, so if the show is an ego vehicle of Patrick Stewart, the best choice is to focus on Oscar bait kind of shows with limited CGI. Good Picard episodes in TNG were like The Inner Light or Tapestry where they were character studies about Picard. Seeing as how Picard today is retired and old, that severely limits the kinds of quality stories down to themes of mortality. The whole Borg drama was an event, but it doesn't define his character like the Picard show insists upon.

I'm getting suspicious that Mike likes ghosts so much he's making more of them.

Yes, it is the same T-Bone, who also once played Ronald McDonald. No seriously I am not making this up. And speaking of the Wheel:

Just a quick update. I'm currently editing a new video. This is a top secret project so I did my best to censor what it is and who might be involved. I can't say exactly when this project might be completed but it'll be "soon". I know soon is relative, like soon can be a minute or in geological terms soon can mean 100,000 years. Let's just say it's somewhere between those two measures of time.

Looks like the other BOTW with Canadian Collin is a WOTW episode!!!
