Mike seems burnt out in general. It's getting harder for him to put his ass in a chair and pretend to be enthusiastic about discussing yet another old movie.
 
Don't agree with the doomers in here at all, tbh. The newest BOTW was really good, love me some Roddy Piper. And I'll take any of the Canadians that I can get. These Milwaukee boys still got it.

I'm not a doomer at all. They're still really good overall. They have ups and downs for sure. I kinda prefer the HiTB format in the Pinkett house and that's pretty rare now. They are certainly a lot more shy on bashing current movies, and that might be due to the backlash they got with the Bruce Willis recent ones.

And they have lost a lot of their edge, which is mostly, I'm sure, due to Youtube censorship insanity.
 
I thought Mike and Colin were a bit low-energy at the beginning of the RoboCop 2 re:View, but I think it was due to hangovers. A third of the way into the video, they perked up and were far more animated and energetic.

I'm also not a doomer about their current output. While they do have their hiccups from time-to-time, I still find their videos mostly enjoyable. The self-censoring due to YouTube is a bummer, though. I would say that they should upload their raw videos to Rumble, but I'm sure Jay heard on X/Twitter, without doing any research himself, that it's a Nazi death camp.

I'm really not a doomer myself, but I do think the guys need to find something else to do besides watching movies bad/mediocre movies and revisiting movies from their youth. I have no idea what that might be.

I wonder if Jay or Rich have any unique things they'd like to do on their own within RLM but outside of the usual stuff. In other words, something that doesn't involve Mike. Mike is really the only one sucking the life out of the room these days. I feel my own energy levels dropping just watching him sigh and mumble his way through things.
 
i too did enjoy this latest re:view and the latest BoTW, but their output in general has been of much lower quality than their older stuff. even if i like the stuff, i think they would benefit from a vacation.

I think they do satire even better than Veerhoven (while I love Robocop, the man's "commentary" is overrated). Would love for them to do more stuff mocking trends like film crew, the star trek "sketch" and other movie tropes.

Though if they were to take a break, I say it would be a perfect time to have an all guest BotW (like with Len Kabisenski) that sits down and reviews... the 3 RLM films and then discusses them.

Sure none of their latest stuff is up there with their greatest videos but it's all been fine

The argument is that fine is forgettable while bad can be funny to laugh at. I don't think I agree given how bad movies can really irritate the audience while generic, bland movies that fail at the box office can become cult classics if they're aired in syndication on cable TV. Your Lifetime movies, your Rewind TV shows, plenty of mid shows that function as content. A movie like Elves or The Jar or whatever they show on BotW? Just shit as movies where we're really watching RLM watch these movies, not the movies themselves. Space Cop needed serious redrafting during the table reads to find the jokes that worked.

We were inspired by the fact that there are currently three brand new independent films available on various streaming services that all came out right around the same time and all star working actor Kyle Gallner. So we did the Kyle Gallner Triple Feature Spectacular!! It's a little random but hey, you gotta go where inspiration takes you.

I told you guys that they will still do Half In The Bag's just for movies that they are interested in, especially if it's independent.
